Oh wow - thank you so much everyone, what a lovely surprise when I've just come on the boards

I had a lovely day yesterday. Some of my friends had arranged a surprise lunch down at our beachhut (the weather was a bit pooh-ey at first, but we toughed it out until the sun came out and boy, was it hot again then). My two sister-in-laws on DH's side came over which was another nice surprise, as well as my SIL, so we took up most of the beachhut space around us

I then got taken out to dinner in the evening, but poor old DH is in agony with a bad back at the moment, so it was only down to the Italian in the village - and very nice it was too.

Today, however, it was back down to earth with a bump . . . a visit to the docs with a septic foot. Won't spoil anyone's dinner out there, but it's really terribly painful and rather unpleasant, so I'm fed up now, but hopefully the steroids and antibiotics will kick in soon. Oops, perhaps I shouldn't have had that glass of wine just now!

So no standing, walking or driving for a few days. I tell you, this getting old(er ) lark is not all it's cracked up to be. Like Darryl said to me, if we were horses we'd have been put out to pasture now
