Happy 235th Birthday, Ludwig!!!

DS did his "famous composer" report for music class on Ludwig -- as did about half the class. But amazingly, DS, who hates to practice his piano, actually told me that he wants to learn "that song" -- Fur Elise.


Michael, did you ever read a book called "Beethoven's Hair"? I started it last year, but got distracted and didn't finish it. It is the story of a lock of LVB's hair, how it got passed from one person to another, and finally, it's chemical analysis. I'm going to dig it out and read it again . . .

I have not read that one. I need to check it out. I've read several "novelizations" of other composers, but haven't read one about Beethoven yet. The movie "Immortal Beloved" was very well done, even if wildly inaccuarate. And the music was wonderful.
