Well, it has been a whole year of fun on the boards for me. LOTS of FUN. Lots of great new friends. We couldn't have had such a wonderful first vacation to WDW without the information and advice we received from the folks on the DIS.

I have gotten that extra push to keep up with rewards programs ... still not sure if that is a good thing Seems like pulling teeth to get some of the rewards that we have earned.

We wouldn't have known about the best places to stand to watch the parades or fireworks or illuminations. We wouldn't have known to get the Fantasmic dinner package, wouldn't have known when to make PS's AND to make sure that you start calling at 6:55 am for them. We wouldn't have known about the twinkling sidewalk in EPCOT or the talking water fountain. I could go on and on....as I usually do, but I'll stop here.

Lots of times we lose our regular posters after their trips to WDW. Your anniversary means that you're planning on sticking around, right? I get such a kick out of your posts.

Happy DIS Anniversary, Dave!

So, have you started planning your next trip yet? Gotta have something to work towards, right? There's going to be a few DIS meets in the general area over the summer. Among them are Macedonia, OH over Memorial Day weekend and Allentown, PA at the end of July shouldn't be too far for you. Maybe you guys could join us at one of them.

LOL-at first I thought it was your wedding anniversary-lol! Happy Anniversary anyway & hope you had a great holiday time with your family.

BTW--we were snowed in Buffalo for a bit when the Thruway was closed & are happy to be home--weird that we are only 1 hour away & have less than 1 inch of snow on the ground!!

Nancy, DW and I are going in Feb or march...was supposed to be January but things happen..

Karen, Holidays were great, I hope yours were as wonderful. We got about 3 ft of snow. We went through the city yesterday, they did one heck of a job getting rid of the snow. Some places got 7 ft of it in 3 or 4 days.

Happy! Happy! Happy Anniversary Dave!

I was reading your post & read of at least 2 thing that I hadn't heard of -
the twinkling sidewalks & the talking fountains at Epcot - could you tell me where they are?

We've been to WDW twice in the past 4 years & I've been reading these boards since March & hadn't seen or heard of these two things. We'll be back in "The World" in June & I know my boys would love to see these.

Hey Pink, Here is a link to the twinkling sidewalks;

The talking fountain is a fountain you drink from. You bend over to get a drink, turn the water on and it "talks" to you. Things like, "hey I'm drowning down here", "that wet my whistle", "slurp, slurp, slurp". It is near the twinkling sidewalk and between an Innoventions entrance and the large dancing fountain. I hope this helps. If not let me know I'll try to be more explicit with my directions.
