Yes, he is a 4th of July baby...when I was younger I thought the parades, firewrorks and everything else on the 4th was just for him! 
It has been a tough year for Dad, with 2 hospital stays and a decline in his health. For a while there we didn't think he would make it to this birthday but we are all so thankful he did. The family will be coming over here later for a cookout and to go swimming and of course have cake and ice cream!
On a sad note, my sister and her dh won't be able to make it as BIL got a call that his brother died up in Canada (PEI) so they are on their way up there..
