Did I miss the Disneyland birthday thread? If I did, please merge this.
When I was a little girl, we lived near Anaheim and I went to the park as often as my parents could afford to take me. We could make a ticket book last for weeks! Although I rarely get to visit now that I live and work in the Valley north of LA, I still think of Disneyland fondly. I've taken my daughter to Disney World a few times and Disneyland about 4 times a year. She loves Disney World, but like her mom, she is a Disneyland girl.
I've had my ups and downs with Disneyland over the years. But I'll always love it and have lots of great memories of growing up with the Subs and Skyway. My daughter has Monsters Inc and Toy Story. Different in so many ways yet still feels the same.
I saw a lovely post on the front page of MiceChat this morning that brought tears to my eyes about what Disneyland means to the writer.
One day, I'll live close to Disneyland again. I really miss those carefree days! Happy Birthday Disneyland. You make 53 look like the new 23.
