We arrive mid-August and really want to see the new fireworks at MK. We have a 7:40 pm reservation at BOG and there is just the 3 of us...
Will we make the fireworks to get a decent view? They are scheduled for 9 pm.
I keep trying to get an earlier reservation but its Be Our Guest after all.. not likely to come up.

You can let your server know at the beginning that you are trying to make the fireworks. Can put in order for everything at one time (appetizers, entrees, etc) and can handle check early. You may can get out in a little under an hour. May be some decent viewing spots left.

Where are you wanting to watch HEA from? Front of the castle/hub area? If so, that's too tight a window for my tastes. Let's say you're out by 8:40, it's going to be a bit hard to move around the hub effectively. I'd bail on BOG or just wait for something earlier to open up. When I'm on site I'm always amazed at what shows up 24 hours before hand at BOG.

If you're fine watching from behind the castle (cool fireworks view but can't see castle projections), then your plan MAY be ok.

Hoping to watch them from in front of the castle... I will keep trying to get an earlier reservation... thanks!

Cool. I guess you 'could' be OK, I'm just worried about your dinner taking longer than you think it will, you not getting seated on time, etc. With HEA being so new and hub viewing at a premium, it attracts quite the crowd.

Granted, mid-August will probably be pretty decent crowd wise overall and it's easier to maneuver around with only three people.... but my gut says that could create a stressful situation if things don't go your way.

GOOD LUCK, and have a great trip!

I 100% agree I just don't know why I didn't think of this before... all of a sudden I look at my plans and... oh oh...
I also remember 2 years ago waiting almost 30 min to be seated at BOG...
We do have a second day at MK but was hoping to be done early that day.. we have a res at Ohana at 8 pm that day.
But I was just able to get a 6:40 at BOG on our second MK day, so if need be can also cancel Ohana and try to book it for that first night instead...
At this point if all else fails I will drop BOG as we've done it before... it's more important for us to see the fireworks.
On this trip anyway :)
I would hate to be running at 8:45 trying to get through the crowds ;)

I have not been to MK fireworks in a while so hopefully someone else can confirm whether this works, but I seem to remember seeing on a vlog that someone said they get there about 15-20 minutes before showtime because thats when CMs have people who are sitting stand up and move forward, so spaces start to open up in the hub. If this is true, 3 people is a small enough party that you could get there at this time and find a newly opened up space.

I have noticed with reservations that if you check back frequently enough and are patient, many times a reservation will open up, so definitely keep trying and wait until the the last second to cancel.
