my fp+ window (onsite so 60+ days) opened this morning and I was surprised that there were no firework fp available. I have never used a fp for nighttime shows before but was going to try for a day we were only doing a park in the evening. I then looked later in the trip and there was no mention of happily ever after viewing fp. Do they go that fast, or are they no longer doing the special area?

I think you are correct, they use the viewing areas for the guests who have bought tickets for the dessert parties. So unfortunately they are no longer available as a FP.

The Plaza Garden nearest Tomorrowland Terrace is used for the Dessert Party-the one by Casey's is open to anyone.

They did away with Wishes FP about a year or so ago, sadly. It was nice to be able to have it and have a nice spot to sit down and enjoy the fireworks.

The only fireworks shows that have FP are Illuminations and Fantasmic

I like it better without the fastpasses. The old section by caseys is still there and still looks like it's special viewing. As long as you know how to get around the crowd and into it, you can usually show up last second and get a seat for the fireworks :) In the past I had to have a fastpass, now I can just walk up.

Now if your talking first couple weeks, lots of locals know that spot and don't count on getting there last second the first few weeks, especially on the weekends. Also don't count on it the first week pandora is opened as there is a mass of people from this forum at WDW the same week for the anniversary events.

We will be taking my dad for the first time next week. He will be in a wheelchair. Does anyone know if there are any wheelchair areas set aside for Wishes viewing?

I would love to know the best way to access this. We don't mind getting to the spot 45 minutes or so ahead (we will be there the first week of June), therefore we wouldn't be trying to get in last minute. We just want a nice spot to watch.

there is no single answer to this as it depends on your ability to get around or through the crowd... What you need to know is there is no entrances on the main street and casey's side.. the castle side has 3 or 4 entrances into it however it's also a viewing location so it will get packed with people you may not be able to get through. The walkway on the opposite side of main street is going to be the best bet as there is designated no viewing walkways so you can either come out of emporium in the door that is technically in casie's near first aid and try to walk up to it from there. you can come out of adventureland or if your familiar with the deck walkway between ye ole christmas shop and the old smokers section tree/adventureland entrance you can get into the hub and follow the walkways to it that way.. from tomorrowland side you kind of go near the plaza restaurant and walk directly past it on a walkway and turn into the area with the entrance..

Best suggestion, is when coming in, take 2 minutes and walk around where it is to get familiar with how the walkways around the hub and where to come in/out of them so you can find them when it's darker and a mob of people easier instead of roaming through crowds, which at some point will be too many people to walk through with your group aimlessly looking for the entrance to it.

Thanks for the detailed response. We actually watched Wishes from the walkway going straight out from the baby center/first aid last year and I do remember a few openings onto the grass...but because we did not stake out a spot ahead of time, it was too busy/crowded for us to get in. Hopefully we can get there earlier enough to get inside that area this time.
