Happily Ever After Dessert Party... how it works with Once Upon a Time

My husband and I are going to Disney World in February and are looking to do the Happily Ever After Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing at MK. The dessert party start time is 6:45pm, with Happily Ever After starting at 8:00pm. It may be a silly question, but I was wondering if we will have access to the roped off viewing area in the Garden Plaza for Once Upon a Time as well (7:30pm)? Everything I've found online is from those with experiences seeing Once Upon a Time after HEA, not before.

Yes, you have access to the Plaza Garden area pretty much from the start of the dessert party. You can “move” over there whenever you want.

If OUAT is before HEA on your night, then yes, you’ll have a good view.

Yes, you can move over any time, and once they made the announcement for OuaT most people quickly rushed over to the viewing area, and even at that point most of the front row was already taken, so keep that in mind if front row is important to you

We did it on a day where OUAT was first. They make a 10-minute and 5-minute announcement over the loudspeaker so you can't miss the show. About 75% of people left and went out to the plaza. We could hear the music very clearly but couldn't see projections-we had another night to see OUAT, so stayed in the party. It was awesome and we just relaxed inside until 5 minutes before HEA, closing out the party. CMs were nice and chatted with us, desserts were still out until we left, so in theory after the projection show you could come back in for a quick cupcake or something. When we went out to the plaza we easily found a spot against the back rail, so we could lean against it. Because everyone thinks the front is better there is a big gap between those people and the back rail so we had a perfect view!
