Here we are back to reality with only our memories to get us through the initial days of getting back in the daily grind, but ahhhh what magical memories we have to do just that. We will try to keep this trip report interesting & entertaining as well. We have tons of photos to share and help you visualize the magic. We ask that you do remain seated while the ride is in motion, keeping hands, legs, & arms inside the vehicle at all times. Sit back relax and as Peter Pan once said, " Here we go!! Off to Neverland!!"
Our story begins on October 8, 2005 with Myself (Michael) & my DW (Katharine) as newlyweds embarking on a journey of life-long bliss. What better place to start than at the happiest place on earth, Walt Disney World!! The wedding in Virginia was perfect (except the rain from tropical storm Tammy). I found it interesting that after we left the reception and got to the airport the sun started to shine. A sign of good things to come? Our flights were fine and arrived @ MCO at 11:30pm. The airport was a ghost town and we headed to the Magical Express counter. There was a short line for check in and the CMs were very pleasant. We were placed on a bus and with in 10 minutes were driving towards WDW. It only took about 40 min to get to our resort (POFQ) which was the 1st stop. We walked into the familiar lobby and waited just a few minutes to be checked in. Our CM wasn't overly magical, but wasn't rude either, just mildly pleasant I suppose. I asked her about transportation for character meals as I had read a few post with confusions about early transports. I told her we had a 7 am GFC ADR and wanted to ensure there was a bus coming early enough to get us to MK. She looked at me like I was crazy, so I re-worded it to priority seating, still a blank look, discouraged I said dining reservations, and she responded "you mean like victoria & alberts?" I just dropped the whole thing at that point, thanked her and went on my way. Not such a hot start, but I wasn't going to let that discourage me. In all that I forgot to ask about luggage arrival from ME. So I called the desk and he told me that if we wanted our bags that night it would be 3-4am as they were backed-up. I told him it wasn't necessary as we had clothes in our carry-ons. He just told me to put the privacy sign up so they would not knock. All in all ME was a great experience getting us to the hotel. It was now almost 1 am, it was a long day (we had a 11 am wedding) and we were exhausted. So off to bed to get some rest before our 1st day in the parks.
