I called today regarding my ressies at HRH and guess what(as if you don't already know ;) the 3 reservationist who I spoke with regarding my ressies on different days ALL SAID DELUXE CLUB ROOMS ARE ON CONCIERGE LEVEL FLOORS!!!

After reading your response I called back and asked again and still I got the same answer so I said ok. Today I called because something was bugging me regarding my ressies and sure enough they had my ressies screwed up!!!

I told them from the very beginning that there were "5" people in the room not 4 but 5. I told them I wanted to be on Concierge level and have a room with the pullout sofa--ALL 3 RESERVATIONIST SAID THIS TYPE ROOM WAS AVAILABLE!!!

Ok course I was pissed especially when the Supv tells me "I" have to pay the difference for their mistake umm NO I'M NOT PAYING JACK....I told her it's quite obvious YOU ALL NEED TO TRAIN YOUR STAFF BETTER SO FROM NOW ON THEY GIVE OUT THE CORRECT INFO!!!!

"IF" they gave me the correct info from the start I would have kept the 2 standard rooms I had instead of requesting the 1 room that "they said" had 2 queen beds and the pullout sofa on concierge level.

So now I'm in a Kids suite for $296.00 a night which I guess isn't bad, but then again I really don't know if it's a good price or not because it's our first time staying there. I hate to talk about prices, but is this a good deal?

BTW, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR REPLYING. IF I HAD NOT READ YOUR REPLIES I WOULD HAVE BEEN SCREWED ROYALLY WHEN WE GOT THERE :sunny:

Hi,

We stayed at the HRH last April and it was amazing.

However, we had reserved a standard garden view room and IMHO the room is too small for a family of five. We hired a roll-away but it was pretty crampped for all five of us. This year we are going back and I have instead reserved a Deluxe Room (it's 500 sq. foot and features a sofa-bed). Personally, I would recommend this for your family as it means you won't need to hire the roll-away and will get some extra space.

Yes, you can walk to the parks. Universal Studios is SO close - literally a 5 minute walk. IoA is also extremely close. We rarely used the boats.... it was just as easy to walk, although they were a nice alternative :)

Hi Frances,

I forgot to add we are staying in a Deluxe room at concierge level. I do recall the person from reservations mentioning something about a club level library. She also mentioned something about movies and books :confused3

I know I probably should have called back, but knowing you all have first hand experience with staying on site is more helpful.

Thanks for your help

Hi Pongo :)

I don't know how you managed that -- apparently you cannot reserve deluxe club level rooms! They are allocated at check-in to those who have reserved either deluxe or standard club level rooms, but cannot be reserved themselves!! Check your confirmation to make sure the TA was right :) I would give them a call back and get them to triple check that for you :)

I don't either :confused3

I don't know if it's because I used the annual pass rate thru Universal's reservations or what, but I do have the Deluxe Concierge level reserved at 279.20 per night with one night's deposit paid up front.

Actually I made the deluxe reservations first. Then I called back to request a water view which she said she would put in my reservations. I then enquired about concierge level which only came to 16 dollars more a night so I took it.

OK SCRATCH everything I written above!!!!!

I just became a travel agent about 3 hours ago. I now have 2 standard pool view rooms at the HRH for 129.00 @ a ta rate a piece which is sooo cool.

Thanks

opps, posted this on wrong thread originally -

This is interesting. I called to see if I could reserve a "club deluxe" - twice reservations told me there weren't deluxe rooms on club level (I called back because I thought the first lady was just misinformed). I then asked the number for the hotel directly. They do have 4 deluxe rooms on club level, but you can't be guaranteed of one if you book a club room. She said see if one was available on check-in, I could ask for it and pay the $50.00 upgrade! I told her the club rate is only $16 more. She said she doesn't have access to the rates. She suggested I call reservations and change to a club room - BUT they can't guarantee me a deluxe. I'm not going to change it, because we want the larger room. I ended up requesting room 7041, so we'll see. It's kind of silly on their part - I'd gladly pay the $16.00 (but not $50!), but as it stands, if I get the club room, it will be a the deluxe rate.

Hannah,

We are in the same situation (we've booked a regular Deluxe room too).

What is the number you used to make your room request?

Thank you!

If you can't do it over the phone, how did you do it? I haven't seen that option online. thanks!

Hannah
There isn't an option. Universal need to train their reservationist better than what they're doing. I could see if one gave me the wrong info, but alll three I talked to gave me the same wrong info.

This is a darn shame, but thankfully all was not lost.

Did you price out the kid's suite with your ta discount? We just stayed in one last month for 324.- AP rate. At the time it was cheaper than 2 rooms. It was perfect for me, DH and 2 teen boys (although the boys insisted on putting the stuffed animals on the floor in the corner  ). The room was huge - large, walk in closet (which I used to change in), enormous bathroom, large room with king bed at one end and living room set up at the other (pull-out sofa and comfy chair) with tv, etc., then 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds, table and 2 chairs under the window and large armoire with tv. It worked out perfect for us - my only complaint was that the tile floors in the entry way seemed to carry every noise from the hallway right into the room. The full size of the kids suite was comparable to a 1 br villa at WDW.

PS: that's what I need, a TA license !!! :smooth:

Thanks for the Kids Suite info :flower:

With the Discount we're paying 296.00 a nite.

if anyone has pictures of the kids suite could you post them. I want to book this room for Feb 2006 and would like to see pics to make sure there is enough room. Also I just called yesterday and they said they were not taking reservations for 2006 yet...That seems weird to me. Has anyone booked for 2006 yet and if so...HOW??? this is for the HARD ROCK HOTEL. I forgot to mention.
