Hannah Montana- the Mom

Do they ever say what happened to the mom on Hannah Montana? I just assumed she died in a car crash, but after tonight's episode it's obvious that the mother had planned for her death (illness?).

I was wondering the same thing after watching last night's show with my daughter. From the video Billy Ray showed her, it appears she "knew" she must be dying for her to record tips for Miley's future???? I'm curious too. Asked my DD (she's almost 9) and she said she doesn't ever remember it being mentioned????

That Wikipedia answer makes no sense to me.

-Why would a plane crash leave them broke? With the royalties from his songs they would have been very well off. Unless it meant it left him broken hearted, in which case it was poorly worded.

-Why would she have recorded a video in which she appears to know that she is going to die, so that she can give advice to Miley?

Hmmm, maybe one day they will explain it. I can't recall ever seeing it mentioned in the series itself.

I thought car accident too, but I don't think they have ever said on the series. I think I just assumed it because that seems to be how so many fictional mothers are killed (like in Full House).

I assumed cancer or some other terminal illness. Especially if she had the time to make those videos.

You would at least think that both under Wikipedia would be consistent with each other.
