i just noticed that the next tropical storm is named Hanna..

hurricane hanna?
nice alliteration, but a bit worrisome as it looks like it could potentially be a threat to florida..

rather ominously, it has the very same name as DD, who will be arriving in orlando wed. morning........i'll try not to attach any significance to this.....

the latest storm track shows tropical storm hanna turning towards cuba....so that's good - not for the Cubans, but hopefully it won't hit florida directly...

Hanna has turned again and is now heading northwest and is considered to be a potential risk for the eastern shore of Florida for the end of the week...

That would be about right for the luck I'm having this last year.

We fly Sunday and my daughter is called Hannah.

strange but true, your better haveing a huracane than a TS.
Reason it it passes quicker
we were there when fay hit over a week ago,and it lingerd for 5 days.one day it dumped 24inches of rain in a day around altamore springs
We landed when hurracane charley hit and were diverted to miami.by the time we drove up it had gone, and for the next two weeks there was no rain as it took it with it.
as for when fay hit,the day after it made landfall we when to clearwater.
It was clear skys there.we did seascreamer and 4 hours on beach
second day we went to bush gardens and not a drop of rain
third day we did a planed shopping/cinima day(saw tropic thunder great flim)
fourth day busch gardens slight drissle then sunny
5th day we stayed at hotel for a beer day so it didnt bother us
Just dont wory and plan round it as orlando is 60-75 miles from the coast most of the major effects would have disapated from less than a cat 3,and all disney propertey is built to withstand a cat 5

yes we were there during a hurricane in 1995 - i think it was called erin...
anyway, it passed within 24 hours...those were 24 scary hours, but afterwards the weather was pretty much back to normal....no lingering that i remember...

Did Hannah have a good journey over to New York? Her friend will especially have a fantastic time with it being her first holiday over there.:)

so far so good...
we heard from them after they got out of customs and were waiting for their shuttle...
her friend took forever getting out of passport control, so DD was very very worried - she went on the us citizen side and ended up waiting for 30 minutes until her friend got through the non-citizen side.....

anyway, i assume they checked into their hotel ok...
on the last day before they left, her friend ok'd my finding a hotel for them..
so i booked them a room through expedia for $150/night...
hopefully the hotel is ok...it's right in times square, so that's a vast improvement over the hostel they were planning on...:goodvibes

i'm keeping my fingers crossed for them regarding orlando weather and tropical storm hanna...

I am glad everything is going okay, it should do with your expert planning helping.:goodvibes
