Hank's Wish Trip ~ Dreams Come True!!! *update 11/28 post 46*

I'm loving it!! EVERY time I read one of these Wishers TRs I NEED icecream!!! You guys are making me gain weight!!!

I went and we bought a big tub of ice cream!!

When I left you all last I was showing you the awesome ice cream!! YUMMMMMY!!! It was so nice to sit outside with my family, eat some ice cream and just realize where we are and why. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.

After my moment (and there were a lot) we went over to the Castle of Miracles. WOW!!!!! Talk about a magical place. Here is the outside.

We went on a merry-go-round ride first and then entered the castle. When we got in we were greeted by Rusty who told us that he was expecting us!

In the castle is where we could play on the slides, throw money in the well ~ that made funny noises back at us, open and close doors on the wall that binged and bonged and where the kids made pillows. Talk about fun, fun, FUN!!!

After all the fun plus some, it was time for Hank to do his star. This was one of the things that I was looking forward to the most. My baby was going to leave a star that would go on the ceiling forever. That means that part of my son will be at GKTW forever.

When we first walked into the castle and I saw all of those stars and I knew that the represented each child that has had a wish trip, and that all those children have fought and continue to fight. It gives me a lump in my throat. There have been so many times that I have felt alone and I know that Hank has too. To see them and think of them it makes me realize that we aren't alone. Probably a lot of this doesn't make sense, but I am too choked up to figure out how to say it the right way.

I loved that Castle...I wish we could have gone in there more than once.

Do you guys remember your favorite Christmas memories as a kid?

I do remember a few presents...like my first bike. But I remember other stuff...playing video games with my cousins (Pitfall, anyone remember that one?). I remember the food on Christmas day falling off the whole table and landing on my Papaw's lap. THAT is some Christmas fun!

Ok, now I am crying...

Anyway...I hope you can find little somethings for your kids...and wrap them in really BIG boxes...and make awesome Christmas memories. And just wrap pictures of your kids for all of your other family. Everyone wants some sweet pictures! Much better than a shirt, tie, candle, yada, yada...

last yr we got a placement of 4 kids and we got on a wishing tree
it was our Christmas miracle I will never forget the feeling of the 900 lb weight coming off my back
we had to spend all our kids Christmas money on boots, coats and clothes for the new kids it was so hard but they needed it more then my kids needed presents
we had a small christmas last yr but it was a wonderful one with 9 little faces to wake up too

I don't know when they close out, but one of my most fun things when I was a Public Health Nurse was helping the families in my caseload to sign up for Toys for Tots. I always got a warm feeling participating in that.

Your love for your kids shines what you have posted on this thread. I hope the love warms you all and helps you through whatever hard time you are going thru right now.
