I’m PIF for a Jan 11, 2021 if it’s canceled 125% will be taken, if it sails and we can get shots we will go, if not 15 day lift and shift,

When our Italy/Greece cruise was canceled back in May, I took the refund. The similar cruise for the following year was about the same amount of money when released so I deposited on that. That amount of money is all I was comfortable leaving with DCL in these times. I will be cancelling before my PIF date in February if things with the pandemic have not improved. The extra savings was not worth it to me. Only you can decide. Things for us are just too uncertain.

I also cancelled my Greek cruise this year on my PIF date as even if they sailed, my teenaged daughters decided they didn't want to travel that far during Covid. I already had another late fall 2020 cruise booked with a 10% off so moved that to next a June Greek instead. Turns out the Merrytime cruise it had been on, has just been cacelled too so a good move. I agree about not going past the PIF date if things look iffy. Even if they sail, I wouldn't want to go. BYW, DCL is extending all on board booking credits to the end of March 2022. We may switch for a winter 2022 break Caribbean cruise when they come out using our discount. Surely, there should be a vaccine out by then.

Back in March/April(?) we canceled our 25th wedding anniversary cruise that was supposed to sail later this month. At that time we took a full refund. We still have a May 2021 DCL booked but DH and I are considering whether to go ahead and cancel that now. Originally we were hoping that we could just take the voucher for the flight for the canceled trip this month to pay for the flight for the cruise in May. Since our AA flight number disappeared, I’m hoping that is considered canceled and we can just get a refund on that as well. Being in a high risk group I’m in no hurry to travel any time soon.

We've had two cruises canceled this year. We originally took the 125% FCC for one of them and used it towards a European summer cruise in 2021, but we just canceled for a refund recently because there are too many unknowns. The more and more Disney canceled cruises, we felt it may be better to hold off and wait until see how the new experience is. Also, that is a lot of money tied up with Disney for a while. If we had paid with gift cards, we probably would have just left it.

We haven't canceled our January 2021 cruise yet but we will before PIF. I doubt it will actually sail but I would rather have the money than any type of discount. Disney hasn't provided any details of what the onboard experience will look like but an educated guess is that it is a reduced experience. DCL is very expensive to then loose a lot of what you are paying for. I feel confident that if cruising comes back and we want to sail a GT rate will be available.

We canceled our January 2021 cruise booked on a placeholder. I know, I know, I lost the 10% but in the grand scheme it isn't that much. DCL is so expensive that to possibly have a reduced experience is not worth it. I will wait and see how and when cruising starts back up before I book another. I am kicking myself to have booked a placeholder to begin with. In all our disney cruises we have never booked onboard because I didn't want to be "tied down" to a date, so I thought this last time "Oh, a placeholder is great, let's do it!" Then booked the Jan 30th cruise right before the whole pandemic hit. Never again, the placeholder/booking onboard just doesn't buy that much anymore.
