Ok people I am heading in Sept with the family (4 adults and 4 kids under 6) and I need to know what the hands down dont miss restaurants are at WDW.

Thanks a million! :woohoo:

We mostly do Character meals for our DD(4), our faves are:

Breakfast: Chef Mickey's (Contemporary) or Crystal Palace (MK) or Tusker House (AK)
Lunch: Hollywood and Vine (DHS)
Dinner: 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian)

We did go to Chefs de France at Epcot and it was outstanding, although I've read mixed reviews elswhere.

For Counter Service: Noodle Station at MK

As far as snacks go, you HAVE to get a Dole Whip in Adventureland.

If the kids love Winnie the Pooh the Crystal Palace is a must for breakfast. That is my favorite breakfast place in Disney.
I would also recommend Ohanas at the Poly for dinner. The kids run around and dance. Food is good as well. Everything is served on skewers.

depends upon your taste.

like american food and beef.

okay love Norway before they added those characters...

love Bistro de Paris - also...

Yacht's Steakhouse

Artist's Point, Yachtman's Steakhouse, Kona Cafe, O'hana and Spoodles are the ones that come to my mind.

Also, Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney does a fantastic breakfast. I'm not sure how well known that is...we had breakfast there several times in Dec. and it seemed like hardly anyone else was there:confused3 Needless to say, it's very good.

It really depends on what you like :confused3 Where you'll be staying and which parks you'll be at.

Buffets/family style served meals are good for kids/families. Lot's of food choices and the character meals have built in entertainment. As mentioned, Crystal Palace is a great buffet for all Pooh Bear lovers and the food is pretty good. I'm not a huge Chef Mickey fan --very busy, loud, food so-so-- 1900 Park Fare (at the GF)has a very good buffet (dinner was very good, haven't tried their breakfast) Cape May Cafe (at the BC)has a great character breakfast buffet. Garden Grill at Epcot is family style and we've had great meals there.

My best recommendation is to look at all the menus to see what appeals to your families tastes. Check out http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/disneydining.cfm or http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

Keep in mind that Disney has offered a free dining promotion for September, which has packed many of the restaurants. You may have trouble getting a reservation at many places. Call as soon as possible.

As already mentioned, we love Crystal Palace for breakfast. It is a must do for every trip. We always try to get an 8:05 ADR so that we are there before park opening so we can get pictures with the park empty. We usually finish breakfast by 9a and can get to fantasyland before the crowds.

We love O'hana for dinner. Dessert is the best.

Boma for breakfast or dinner is also awesome. I am a very picky eater that only likes bland foods, and I still love their dinners. The zebra domes and squash soup alone are worth it.

Olivia's at OKW is laid back and has great food and dessert.

We don't like Whispering Canyon. It's loud and the food is below average.

I'm in the minority that doesn't love most of the food at Disney. I used to get excited planning ADRs, but the food is so expensive that most of the time we can get much better food here in Chicago.

As this really is a restaurant review question, rather than a DVC specific question, I'm going to move this thread over to the Restaurants board.

We love Kona (Polynesian), Turf Club (SSR), Wolfgang Puck Cafe (DTD Westside), and Le Cellier (EPCOT) for TS restaurants. Boma (AKV) is also a favorite. For character dining we'd recommend Cape May Cafe for breakfast (Beach Club), Chef Mickey's (Contemporary) or Crystal Palace (MK) - those buffets have been good and the characters appeal to boys or girls.

We "discovered" 50's Prime Time in DHS last week and absolutely loved it!! Realy good quality food, and excellent, funny service!!!! We will always return there now!

In no particular order.......

Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge)
Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian)
California Grill (Contemporary)
Kona Cafe (Polynesian)
House of Blues (Downtown Disney)

O'hana's..........the dessert is INCREDIBLE!!!

Earl of Sandwich......great for lunch...very tasty!!

kona
Boma
Jiko

I LOVE these places. There are other that are good too but these are cant miss for me!

These are just some of my favorites from each park. :)

Magic Kingdom:
Plaza Restaurant (TS)
Tony's Town Square (TS)
Pecos Bill (CS)
El Pirata Y el Perico (CS)
Columbia Harbor House (CS)
Casey's Corner (CS)

EPCOT:
Coral Reef (TS)
Sunshine Seasons (CS)
San Angel Inn (TS)

Hollwood Studios:
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre (TS)
50's Prime Time Cafe (TS)

Animal Kingdom:
Flame Tree BBQ (CS)

Polynesian Resort:
'Ohana (TS) (In my opinion, the best food I've ever eaten!!)

Animal Kingdom Lodge:
BOMA (TS) (We only at there for breakfast so I'm not sure how well the dinner is)

I've never done a character meal but Cinderella's Royal Table and the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom are always a hit with kids. :)

If you want great steak, Shula's in the Swan and Dolphin is not just the best in WDW, it wins lots of awards as the best steakhouse in all of Orlando.
