I would like to purchase some custom handmade items for my daughter for our August trip. I see on the the other forums some really great clothes. I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone in Canada who does stuff similar to this? (then I won't get nailed on the exchange rate )

I don't know anyone in Canada who does... try searching eBay.ca for Canadian sellers and search terms like "custom boutique mickey".

We end up always buying from the states, but it's worth it IMO.

I really wanted my girls to have customs made for our Disney trip too, without paying for all the extras (eBay, shipping, exchange, duties etc). My mom is very talented in sewing so I bought a cute pattern for a dress, Disney fabric from Walmart (Princess and Tink themed) and designed some dresses together. They turned out great! Walmart seems to be the only place that I could find locally that sells Disney themed fabric. If you can find a local seamstress or know someone who can sew using patterns, you can do it yourself, so to speak. Just another alternative if you can't find someone on the internet/eBay.

My mom also made cute Minnie tshirts for our Chef Mickey breakfast using dotted red ribbon and a black cut out (I found the shape on the internet to use as a pattern). I paired it with a red skirt because I couldn't find white polkadotted red fabric anywhere! I think found some though for this year's trip at a fabric store though.

do a search for iron ons. There are lot of people that have created some great designs and will make them custom. I got some plain t-shirts and made irons with them. I also bought alot of stuff at Walmart in the US for very cheap.

you can also buy softwear for your computer you take pics from your computer and internet and transfer them onto these iron on transfers. Walmart has them.

There's a lot of custom made Disney clothes for sale on etsy.com. I'm not sure if any of the sellers are Canadian but it's worth checking out. Some of the outfits are so cute!

I just checked out Etsy. Some of the stuff on there is adorable! I'm feeling inspired to bust out my sewing machine, though I'm sure the urge will pass!
