Handicap valet parking?

Hi everyone! I noticed on the wdw site it says people with a handicap tag can use valet service at most of the deluxe resorts for free. Does this mean we can valet at GF or poly and take the monorail to MK? This would be easiest for my daughter I think. Is there a time limit? Thanks.

I was under the impression you could use valet parking at all the hotels, not just the deluxes.

However, if you're going to drive to the Poly/GF, you may as well drive straight to the park and park down the front in the disabled section - well, Epcot anyway. MK you still have to get across the lake, whether you go by monorail or ferry.

I found the problem with parking at GF and Poly and going to the park after an evening ADR was that either we were last stop round the monorail there and one stop back, or first stop there and last stop back. At least if you do the monorail to MK from the car park, you can get the direct monorail there and back and not have to go on the ring via all the hotels.

I think OP is trying to avoid paying for parking

No, we have APs, it's free. I'm trying to find the easiest way to get my handicap daughter to MK. We usually stay at the monorail resorts so I thought it would be easiest to park there and take the monorail over since that's what were used to. I didn't know if we could actually leave our car all day in the valet at gf or poly and if it would be free. I was under the impression that you could only park at the resort if you were either a guest or for an ADR. I didn't know we could use it for park visiting if we had a handicap tag. Just looking for clarification.

The best thing about the monorail is that I don't have to fold up her cart. We can just get right on. If we take the bus, boat or tram we have to fold everything up, so I have to hold her AND her cart (it's pretty much a big stroller but doesn't have the anchor loops so it has to be folded on the bus). It's awful. That's why I prefer the monorail

Parking at a resort you're not staying at to access a park is not allowed.
People who are dining at a resort are given time-limited passes to park that are plenty long enough to cover time eating, but may get asked for a reservation number when they enter the resort parking area. If you're not dining and are not staying at the resort, you will also be given a restricted amount of time (I'm not sure how long) and need to be able to explain why you're going to the resort.

Your best bet is to park at CR. If you are at the park for EMH the monorail will not run. If you are at CR you can just walk over to your car. I think you are technically supposed to only park for dinner or if you are a guest. However, you won't be the first or last to park at a hotel and go over to the park.

Thanks! That clarifies it :)

We're staying at CR in November specifically to be able to walk back and forth to MK! I'm so excited :)

I don't want to break the rules so we'll use the regular parking, i just thought it would be easier to use the valet and take the monorail and didn't understand the free valet parking thing.

The delux resorts have valet parking. As far as I know, the moderates and values do not.
But, that said, as was already pointed out, it is meant for guests who are coming to that resort, not for parking to go to a park.

If you have a handicapped parking permit, you could drive to the MK parking lot,
Park in handicapped parking with her in her stroller, then take the ferry boat or monorail to he park from there.
You could leave the stroller unfolded on the ferry boat or monorail.

at ferry to MK, you will not need to fold her stroller, just roll on. I actually find it easier than pushing up the ramp to monorail

I agree that the ferry boat is a better option. Pushing somebody up that monorail ramp is a killer. Both my DS's use a wheelchair and are both over 100 lbs., and the monorail ramp both at the TTC and at MK are very steep. Wish they would put in an elevator like at the Epcot monorail station.

Agreed, parking at a monorail resort and then leaving your car there to access the MK via monorail is not permitted. But I have visited the Monorail resorts MANY (as in DOZENS) of times and have never once been asked for a reservation confirmation number nor given any kind of parking pass with any kind of time restriction on it or even anything to display within my vehicle (and I have been there at incredibly busy times other than Christmas and Easter weeks). What does happen is I am asked why I want to access the resort. I tell them, sometimes it is to dine, sometimes it is for another purpose. They let me in and tell me where to proceed. Sometimes I choose to park myself in the HC spots and sometimes I valet. Keep in mind if you choose to valet, you should still tip accordingly. The HC placard/plate precludes one from the daily fee not the tip. :)
