My mom will have an electric scooter this trip. We plan on driving to the parks and I know we can not take it onto the trams. She is getting a temporary handicap pass for the trip. What is the handicap parking situation like at each of the parks?

They will direct you as to where to park at each park. There is a blue line that you will follow to the handicap parking areas.

As the pp said, follow the blue line and instructions from CMs.

MK: TTC parking can be a bit far for those not using a mobility device if you are on the outer edges of the HA parking. My sister was using an ECV that day luckily because if she had been using her rollator, she would have been exhausted from the walk in, especially with the small, steep incline when going under the overpass.

Epcot & AK: Good easy, flat surfaces.

DHS: Small and easy, but it can fill up. We had to park in regular parking a couple of times, I just made sure that I parked where no one was behind me so I could get the EVC out.

as pp said handicapped parking at MK is a pain to get to TTC from lot but having the ECV will help and from what I remember there are no trams in handicapped areas

I would suggest NOT JUST FOLLOWING THE BLUE LINES because sometimes that leads you to a full handicapped parking area or a dead end because they have temporarily moved it.
Let the CM at the booth know you need handicapped parking, put up the placard and make sure all the CMs directing traffic see it.

EPCOT has more than one area, so you may not always be directed to the same spot.

The Studio has a small lot, which fills up quickly. So, be prepared to do a drop off and park in regular parking.

AK has a large lot, but it is quite a distance away from the entrance. It can fill up, but there is other parking nearby (just on the farther reaches).
MK can be a pain, as already mentioned. Plus, you still need to ride either the monorail or ferry boat to the park. Most guests staying at a WDW resort choose to ride the bus to MK, even if they drive to the other parks.

The trams are NOT accessible to ECVs or wheelchairs, so you will need to use the handicapped parking.
There are NO trams at the handicapped parking areas. So, anyone without a mobility device who can step up to get into the tram is better off parking in the regular lot and using the tram.

How hard (time consuming) is it to drop off then go park? Is there an easy way to get into the regular parking lot after dropping off?

Thanks everyone for your help....this is a first for us.

to lync it can be easier at MK to use Disney transportation because of not parking at park
