Handi rooms at Pop

Do we need to contact a special number to make sure we have a handicap room and to see if there is one available for a party of 3????

I called and made reservations for Pop for August. We are also a party of 3. I asked for two doubles. When my confirmation came in the mail, all it says is special needs request. I hope we get what we asked for. I plan on checking right before we leave just to make sure. I'd hate to have to sleep on a cot!

Does anyone know about this?

We were at POP in March & had a handicap room. It was a standard room with a King bed (bed was lower to the ground than a normal bed). It had a roll-in shower stall.

We got this room because I specifically requested a King room when I made the reservations. Nowadays, most Disney rooms with King beds are also considered 'handicapped accessible rooms'.

Call CRO again and make it very clear that you need a handicapped accessible room. Then, ask them to fax you a copy of the confirmation that states your special need.

Hi, missydisney!

To have your room request changed to guaranteed medical necessity, you will need to talk to the people at special services. Their number is: (407-939-7807). They are the ones who can make sure that you are guaranteed a roll-in shower handicapped room. I know that as Disney refurbishes the rooms, there are now handicapped accessible rooms with double beds.

Also, if you have any other questions come on over to the disABILITIES board, as the people there know absolutely EVERYTHING there is to know about that kind of stuff(smile).
