Yeah, I heard something similar on the radio this afternoon - that they just can't afford to keep the current security measures in place for much longer and will need to restrict them to necessary flights only (I'm guessing those to US). It's starting to let up slightly now, seeing as you can now take things on the plane, as long as they are bought air-side. Okay, so that's a pain and you still can't take your own stuff, but a couple of puzzle books, a good book and a packet of playing cards should start to see us all through 8-hour flights!
