I had to go and buy a new small suitcase today as all my others are too large with the new size restrictions. The one I have bought states that it fits, but i've just seen that with the front pockets it makes it 24cms in width, and its currently 20cms. If I don't put anything in those pockets im hoping to get away with it.

Has anyone had any problems flying lately with hand luggage where secruity / check in has wipped out a tape measure and measure the baggage??

Easy jet is who I am flying with and their website gives sizes of hand luggage, im just worried that they make measure it and see that its 24 and not 20

I've never even shown a bag to carry on at check in, it stays under the desk or on my back if its a backpack I've never had it checked.

It will be x-rayed but the security people don't care as long as it fits in the machine.

You won't have any trouble at all with that size.

Don't want to worry you but when I flew from Aberdeen and Heathrow I was made to put hand luggage in measuring frame.
While on the plane a passenger had his oversized brief case taken from him by the stewardess and put in the hold since there was no space in the overhead locker.
There is no give in the measuring frame so hope you case is soft and flexible :)

I've been playing about with it and as long as I don't put anything in the front pockets I can squish it down quite well to around 18cms, so hopefully I will be ok. Otherwise I will be emptying it and taking carrierbags on the plane.

You'll be fine with this size :thumbsup2

I am not sure when the new rules come in, but restrictions are being reduced.

The size of the hand luggage allowed is slightly bigger.

I can not post links but if you go the website baa.com the new rules are there.
