Hand luggage Allowance First Choice

Hi All
Looking on First Choice website it says hand luggage allwce is 45x35x20 which seems to be much smaller than other carriers, has anyone had experience with this it's seems much smaller than Virgin ?

It is unfortunatly up to each airline if they go for the maximum allowed by the CAA or their own definition.
FCA see it as a way to reduce weight on the aircraft therefore fuel costs I would imagine

Yes when we flew to Boston last year with Virgin our allowances were much more generous

This is the funny thing.

Our hold luggage with Virgin is super, in Upper Class 3 X 32Kg, but the hand luggage, whilst better than PE and Econ is only 8Kgs and the size is 56 x 36 x23.

Now on Sunday I am flying Monarch to Spain (ECONOMY!!!!! no Buisness cabin on the flight ) and the hold Luggage is crap at 20Kg, BUT the hand luggage is 10kg and a size of 56 x 45 x 25!

Go figure!!

We had this problem with first choice when we flew with them in November, I had one of those small cabin suitcases but it was a fraction too big. We were getting married therefore I had my tiara, wedding rings etc totalling over £2,000 and there was no way I was checking it into luggage but luckily I managed to speak to someone superior and was able to take it onboard.

We just flew with First Choice this weekend, and the 'bag drop in' tester things they have seem pretty much the same as other carriers. They didn't look or check the size of the bags we had - DH had a decent sized holdall, and there were people with wheel on cases etc. Definitely bigger than those dimensions. I know it can depend on the check in staff, but going and coming back, they seemed very laid back.

Lol I know what you mean we are off to Lanzarote on Thrusday with Monarch and have the 20kg hold luggage and 10kg cabin luggage as it is a scheduled route but if it were charter it would be 15kg hold and 5kg cabin
