Just wanted to give everyone a heads up to be extra vigilant with hand washing. We were at Disney 1/21-1/28. On 1/30 my almost 2 year old started acting a little bit off. Thought she might have a cold or ear ache. Wednesday fever and then on Saturday red bumps on her hands, feet and thighs. Took her to the dr and she has a virus similar to hand foot and mouth but it’s also in her ears and thighs. Later that night my 5 month old presented with spots and a fever and yesterday my 9 year also got it. Best guess we got it at Disney or on the plane since the 2 year old hasn’t been anywhere since returning from Disney not even a grocery store. Just wash those hands all the time!

So sorry to hear this! My D (16) caught it at summer camp last year...it was quite itchy and painful, and she was lethargic and had a fever with it too. So sorry you're now having to deal with this! And you probably already know...but make sure to take the steps the Drs tell you so everyone else in the house doesn't catch it too!

Sending you P&PT that your kids are all better soon. :)

What a bummer! Both of my kids got a severe case of HFM after our Disney trip a couple of years ago, and it was terrible....like, lost all their toenails and fingernails terrible. :crazy2:

I really hope your kids feel better soon and no one else gets it!

I hear ya, wash those babies' hands!!! My 2 year old caught it last September on our trip and it was a mild case, but still very not fun. We had been cleaning his hands obsessively, but that coxsackie virus is prevalent and highly contagious. In a way, I was glad to get it over with since my kid doesn't go to daycare, but not really the way I wanted to end our trip.

Ugh that’s stinks Coxsacki is the worst. From what I understand from 2 rounds of it with my little ones, it’s super contagious in water lives up to 1 month. Pools and any splash pad, water tables, etc. So in warm weather it is rampant.
