Hand foot and mouth disease

Has anyone here ever had hand foot and mouth disease as an adult ?
I know its most common in kids, and supposed to last 7-10 days . I've done alot of looking into it on the internet. It's a virus, so there's no prescription or anything for it , it has to go away on its own. Well I've had it now for 3 weeks, and I'm gonna lose my mind if it doesn't go away !

I had it before. It's terrible! I got it along with strep throat so I was given antibiotics. I was also given some creme for my hands. They itched so badly it like to drove me crazy.

I hope you're over it soon. I had it probably 20 years ago and it's still very vivid in my memory. It's a miserable experience.

I got it from my baby when she was nursing, she was about 9 mos. old and I was miserable. DH quarantined us into one room and one bathroom, so he and other DD would not catch it, it worked. No one else caught it. We were a pitiful lot that week. Hope you feel better soon.

DH, DS and I have all had it. Twice. "They" say you only get it once. And that adults rarely get it. Guess we proved "them" wrong, huh! DH had it while at WDW once... he was miserable. The rash turned into huge blood blisters on his feet, and he had to use an ECV. It was NOT fun! Hope yours goes away soon!!

I did go to the DR by the way, about 2 weeks ago. That's how I found out what it was . It just isn't going away...

Only once??? I have had it about 3 times and each of my kids AT LEAST twice!

Never very bad though, maybe that is why. Just like 4-5 blisters on the hands, 2 -3 on the feet and a sore throat.
