Has anyone stayed at this hotel recently? Our flight into MCO arrives close to midnight, so rather than heading straight to our Disney resort, we're considering changing our reservation and spending the first night there (I have a coupon for a free night at any Hampton Inn so seeing as though we'll all be pretty tired, I thought it would be a convenient & cheap place to stay)...just wondering what it's like. We may consider it for our last night in Orlando as well (flight leaves at 7:20 am) so I'm also curious about how their shuttle service to the airport is. TIA :)

I could see staying at a hotel your last night before an early morning flight but by the time you took the airport shuttle with all your stuff and trekked it up to your room (Hampton Inn's do not have bellman) you will then have to trek it all back downstairs load it into whatever transportation you are using to WDW. If taking a towncar they will pick you up at the hotel. if you are taking Mears you will need to schlep all your stuff back to the airport on the shuttle bus. Frankly I would just stay onsite the first night even if you get in late. All you are doing is delaying when you can get into the parks the next morning. You will need to fight morning traffic. Traffic late at night should be a breeze. When you wake up at WDW you will be glad you made the decision.

I have nothing against the Hampton Inn. It is a respectable chain of hotels.

We're thinking of sleeping in a bit on Saturday, doing some shopping at the Florida Mall, then heading to our resort (rather than taking a day later in the week to do it). We'll have a rental car. I really don't like the idea of arriving at our resort at 1 am (ish). By the time we check-in & get to bed it'll be really late so I doubt we'll feel like getting up bright & early to hit the parks anyway...we may as well use it for shopping. We have a PS at CP for dinner that night for DD's 16th birthday and the park is open until 11pm, so we'll have plenty of time at MK that night (we know it'll be crowded but we don't care...DD wants to spend the night of her birthday watching Spectro & Wishes :)).

We haven't made our minds up yet, but before I decide whether we'll even stay at the Hampton Inn at all (one or both nights), I'm curious to see what experiences others have had at this hotel. Thanks.
