We are spending 2 nights here while before checking in at WDW, DH and DD's are doing Universal...I am relaxing in the peace and quiet!!
We wound up here through a Priceline bid of $37/night. And for that price I think it is a great deal. This is the first time we have stayed on Universal Blvd and I really like this location...we are just a block from I-Drive and all of the restaurants, etc, but Universal Blvd is SOOO much nicer and quieter....no traffic at all. It was a quick 15 minutes from the airport, and an easy 10 minutes to Universal straight up Universal Blvd....again avoiding all the I-Drive traffic, literally next door to the convention center and about 15 minutes to WDW.
The desk staff is helpful, although the front desk always seems busy. Rooms are typical Hampton, nice linens and great beds, free wifi, good work desk, etc. Decent pool area with lots of lounges, smallish pool, nothing spectacular, but clean. Small workout room. Breakfast was fair....I have had better at Hamptons elsewhere, but it was better than nothing and the breakfast room had a lot of tables. Housekeeping is excellent and everything seems immaculate.
I am not sure I would think it was worth the $119 rack rate, but for the price we paid it is great, and the location is primo.
