Anyone gone to a retreat here? The place looks great and I thought I"d check around to see if anyone had actually been there. I think the owner belongs to one of the forums I frequent, but I can't remember if it is the DIS or not! Anyway, if you have been there, I'd love to hear a review. Here's the link in case you have no clue what I"m talking about!

That does look interesting.
Have you ever gone to the Crop for a cure? It is hosted in Oct and is in Reading PA. I love that weekend crop. Good price, great hostesses and for a great cause. Plus they have the best raffles, door prizes around.

I have not gone but it looks like a great house. Taryn is on the Dis. I forget her screen name. She was trying to organize a Dissers scrap retreat for the last weekend in January but I was the only one who sent in a deposit. She said maybe she would try to do a Dis one in the spring. I'm all for getting away to scrap for a whole week end. I'm hoping to make it to the SDV in Long Branch or a Crop Classix in DE. If you ever want to do a Dis scrap retreat let me know, I'd love to meet you all.

That sounds interesting, too. Where can I get info on that crop? Now that my son is almost 4, it is a lot easier for me to get away for a weekend here and there. I'm really into weekend crops now!

are you on the PA scrappers board? They post there.

I can't find my direct link to Andi's site.
It is a great crop and cheap. This crop house sounds fun too. I remember when the owner posted on here. I am never available to go Between Dec and March....Oct works great. Summer is tough too.
I think the first time I left my youngest was about 4 too.

Oh my gosh I love that idea of a DIS scrap weekend!!!!

I think the house sleeps about 10 people. Is anyone interested in getting a group together for a weekend? I'll see if I can find Taryn's e-mail and ask if there is a weekend that would work if people are interested.

If we can get enough and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg...just a leg I'll need my arm to scrap :rotfl: I'm in.

When we were trying to do it last time, if there were 10 people I think it came out to be between $100 and $150 per person. Not too bad for a weekend. I think you can get there some time on Friday and stay till Sunday.

Cool let me know and depending on when I should have the money. Since hubby didn't get me anything for Christmas maybe I'll give myself this:cool1:

I don't mean to resurrect a very long ago thread, but yes! I am just now seeing this thread since I googled The Hamburg Hideaway to see if anyone posted any pics!
Yes, I own it, and yes I would love to help organize a DIS group if it works on an open weekend in our calendar.

Also, I attend the Crop For a Cure too in Reading, PA. I'd love to meet some of you in person!

I use to go to the crop for a cure all the time! Do they still have it? It's been years since I went. Kids and activities got in the way!
Let me know if a crop is happening at the hide away! I would love to try and go!
