Hi all,

My amazing DH just gave me the best birthday gift. I'm going to Disneyland! :)

My DD (14), my mum, and I will be there the second week of school holidays (Oct 7 to 11). We want to do the Halloween party but have questions that fellow Aussie might be able to answer.

Has anyone been? Is it worth making our costumes here and take them over or should we by them there.

Parade, fireworks: yes, we need to do them or not?

DD is huge fan of the characters, so should we get pp+? And do the Halloween photos count on the PP +?

Any thoughts, ideas, or advice would be great. We haven been to the parks since 2010!

Thanks.

Regards

Hi,

We were in Disneyland last year at Halloween time.

We bought costumes when we were over there - there are heaps of costume shops nearby, we had a car for a couple of days so drove but you could also get a taxi. The shop we went to was massive and had so much choice, we got a bit carried away and bought a couple of costumes each.

We went to one of the Halloween parties (on our last night). It was a lot more crowded than I anticipated, but the kids had a great time and got heaps of lollies from the trick-or-treating. We didn't do any of the character meet and greets as there were very long lines.

I wasn't feeling great so we left before the parade and fireworks but I was disappointed to miss them. The light projections onto the castle etc were great. Also the effects like mist on the Rivers of America and roaming entertainment.

Photo Pass Plus is definitely worth it at any time, just for the on-ride photos and character meal photos if nothing else.

I've been to Halloween in WDW and highly recommend it! I suppose it is something we don't have here, so it had high novelty value for me. :goodvibes.
I had a girlfriend whip me up a costume which i wore - and i was glad i did. although outrageously cheesy - about 1/3 - 1/2 of the guests were dressed up - some were amazing - and it added to fun of the evening :thumbsup2

We went last year and had a blast! The fireworks were amazing and the parades and all the other stuff going on was great too. Collected heaps of candy and rode HMH a couple of times. Very recommended.

We also did the 'other side of halloween' and went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, which was amazing, and as a horror fan I loved. But definitely not recommended for children.
