Swiped this off the MP DL update:

I just got the scoop on the new Halloween-themed tour being offered September 26 through October 31 at the Disneyland Resort. The tour:

Operates twice daily at 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. for up to 20 people per tour, unlike last year when it was only run during the week
Lasts three hours and includes rides on Snow White's Scary Adventures, which is new for this year, as well as the Tower of Terror, Haunted Mansion Holiday, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Includes a souvenir and a Halloween treat for each guest.
Costs $59 per person ($47.50 with the AP discount) and does not include park admission.
Can be booked up to 30 days in advance by calling (714) 481-4400

On a personal note, this tour was really fun last year—more light than fright—and we had an amazing "ghost host."

Since it includes those rides, do they escort you to the front of the line?

Other then those four rides listed, what do you do on the tour for three hours? :confused3

I am excited to do this tour. I didn't even know that they had it last year until a CM told me about it when I was signing up for the Walk in Walt's Footsteps in July.

And usually when a tour includes rides, they do escort you to the front. If we're paying extra, they better! :thumbsup2

Did anyone do this tour last year? Was it worth it?

I extended our October trip by a day this morning, which means we will be in the park on a Friday. We normally avoid weekend days....but if we ended with a tour or something neat, it might make it much more fun.

We have never done a tour before, so I'm also interested to know about whether or not you get to go "front of the line" for the rides.

Well, I called Disney trying to get more info on this tour and what exactly goes on during it.

The CM I spoke with was nice enough, but I could tell she was just reading off a screen or paper with pre-printed information and didn't know much about it personally.

She started out by saying that the group follows Mickey, Donald and Goofy around the park exploring the more spooky side of Disneyland. I asked her "When you say follow Mickey, Donald and Goofy does that mean that the characters are actually in the group with you as your guides??"

She paused for a few seconds and then said, "Well, that's what it sounds like to me." So that tells me she wasn't sure and was just guessing.

She said you go around the park and hear stories of Halloween and how it originated and various customs/traditions. Then you hear some classic stories "told from the villians point of view".
Now whether it's told BY the villians themselves or just in their POV, she didn't clarify.

You do go on all the above mentioned rides. You don't need a park hopper to get into DCA if all you have is a DL ticket since you are part of a tour group. I specifically asked if you have to wait in the regular line or if you get front of the line access.

She said, "Well no, you're part of a tour group." Huh. So I asked again and got the same answer. :rotfl: Umm, ok. Whatever that means. I guess she was trying to say that no, you don't wait in line because you are part of a tour.

She said the tour isn't really meant to be scary but for really little kids it might be. Also some of the rides on the tour have height limits so you'd need to take that into account as well.
You get a souvenir collectable as it says. She didn't say what. I'm guessing a pin? And a "Halloween treat". Probably a cookie or something.

I don't know about this. I am a die hard Halloween fan. I love everything Halloween, but I really question if this is worth the $59?

If anyone decides to take this tour, please report back. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. :) :flower3:

Thanks for that, Beth. I want to know if it will be worth it too. I love Halloween and it seems fun... But $59? Hmmm..

I'm tempted to take the tour, but I'm not sure. If it was just a little less I'd do it. Just not sure I can justify the cost. So I do hope someone else can shed more light.

I will see what I can find out while I'm there. I hope your DD has a GREAT b-day but why not come earlier and bring her for her b-day! ;)

This sounds quite exciting I love Disney tours and anything that gets you a free Halloween treat and gift sounds good to me!!!!!
Anyone have any further information about this, I may consider it for my upcoming trip.

I'm curious about this too. I'm planning on going next month by myself, so I might do this. Not that I'm too thrilled about doing a tour and not knowing anyone else in the group.

Hey, that would be great if you guys could take the tour together. I kind of doubt I'll do it since we are already forking out extra money for the Halloween party and the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour.
