Halloween Tickets - on sale when?

Does anyone know when these go on sale? Sent an email to HRH concierge about two weeks with this and other questions, still waiting and waiting... We have to go on October 14th and I know this is a super popular so don't want to miss the boat. Also will have a 12 DS who thrives on this stuff, but a bit nervous 9 DD - not too bad, she loves big thrill rides, any thoughts on the night for her? Should she give it a pass and stay in the kids club?

we're still quite a ways out on ticket or event info. you know your kids better than I do, but there is absolutely no way I would take a 9 year old into HHN.

Tickets usually go on sale in August, along with the opening of the website.

This event is not suitable for most children. Parental discretion is strongly advised.

I did a little researching and last year the website started on july 18th, not
alot at first but they add stuff as time goes on.
tickets were available in july, could not find a exact date for last year, but in 2004 they was on sale june 21st. I did a search at ioa central in the halloween horror nights thread.

the crowds are large, especially on the weekends, and there's a lot of drinking going on. it's more fun than scary, but at times it can be pretty 'edgy' and the wait times on each house can exceed 2 hours. you can google halloween horror nights and see a lot of pics from the past years to give him an idea. it's not a normal trick or treat evening.

10 going on 11 is too young for hhn.

i have been to many of them and it's just not the thing for a youngster

When a similar discussion came up last year, consensus was that the minimum age should probably be at least 12 (I think some even argued for 16).

Yes, aspects of it are R-rated scary/gory, but also keep in mind they push alcohol like crazy--you can get a beer every 20 feet--and there is a lot of sexual innuendo (for example, the streets in Marvel Island were lined with "zombie strippers" last year). It is not something I would want an 11-year-old to see

Rumors were flying earlier this year that Disney had an event planned for MGM that would have targeted kids too old for trick-or-treating and Mickey but too young for Halloween Horror Nights. Now word is it has been cancelled, which is a shame, it sounds like it would have been the perfect fit for a lot of people.

Sixteen? Whoa. That's overdoing it a bit. If someone can't handle HHN at 16, they've got a problem. I was already jaded by the event and becoming hard to scare by 16. Twelve or thirteen sounds like a good minimum.

Is there a chance HHN will have date(s) in late September? We're flying out of MCO on the 30th.

Might be the first October weekend, which starts on Sept 29th so you may get lucky.
