Anyone planning on doing this or done it in the past? I notice the park still closes at 8 pm so I'm sure its geared for the littlest of kids.

Very much a kids' event. Mostly a pathway with colorful costume characters (nothing scary) and booths where they hand out candy and other snacks, like applesauce cups. Not a nighttime event, really, but probably more fun in daylight no matter.

Do kids get dressed up for this? We are going for the first time on October 11 and I was wondering if I should bother putting them in their costumes or not. Thanks!

Oh Yes, dress them in costume. Lots of kids wear dress up and trick or treat. The kids love it.

I just went yesterday (went on a whim, so I had no idea there was a special event going on), and I thought it was really cute. Had I known ahead of time, I might've even grabbed a costume (there weren't too many people dressed up, not even among the kids, probably because it's still so long until Halloween. I did see about a dozen parents in full costume, including a father in full clown suit -- I avoided him like the plague!) Aside from the clown, there was nothing even remotely scary about it.

They did have some really cute characters though -- I especially loved the dog and catfish. They were all very funny and in character. It's definitely a little kid event.

But beware of really ornery employees! One man in particular was appalling. He was refusing kids candy if he thought they'd already received candy from the other guy handing candy out with him. He was snatching people's bags to look through it before he'd give any out. Very rude.

We went today, lots of kids in costume. One man way on the other side of the park in some odd fur costume (:confused3 ), he was the only adult we saw dressed up. Sadly we saw quite a few not so nice crew members. One character was downright rude.

Do you remember which candy he was handing out? I have friends in management over at SW, would like to report him. A lot of these employees are temps, and I hate to see the regular SW employees get a bad rap.

I so agree with this, but I know yesterday they were rotating locations. The person giving out candy in the morning in one location was in a different location in the afternoon. Without the person's name I think it would be hard to track. I second what Jason said, a LOT of the candy people are temps, some are hired just for that event.

We were there on Sunday. We thought they had the park decorated really nice for Halloween.
Try and do the Muppet Halloween show and don't forget Shamu Rocks, if you can hold out till 7:30. Great show.

He was handing out Airheads. He was there for a while, too, because we walked back through a couple hours later and he was still there. An older guy. I believe he had facial hair. The other guy he was handing candy out with looked a lot like him also, but he seemed to be much more friendly. I doubt this helps much, but that's about all I remember. He was there Sunday, probably around 4-6ish.
