Is a Main Street viewing spot as important for Halloween Screams as it is for DLF and its projections? I'm hoping the answer is no since we don't plan to see PTN during the party and don't want to have to jump into a spot on Main St around all those who have seen PTN and are staying put for HS.

Thanks in advance for the help....again!

Unless they change Halloween Screams, it doesn't use projections on Main Street (or the Matterhorn) like Disneyland Forever does. It's uses the castle and the globe that appears next to the castle, so to get the full show, you'll need to be somewhere where you can see the castle and the area to the left of the castle (when facing from Main Street).

Hmmm. Last year at WDW, we kind of stalked Main St so that when the parade ended, we could move into an opening. The difference there is that there were two parades so there was some open space and movement. I'm guessing that doesn't happen much at MHP. We'll just have to make it work!

At this point, the schedule lists Paint the Night at 8:50 pm and Halloween Screams fireworks at 9:30 pm. In the past, folks flood into the fireworks viewing area as soon as the parade passes by. The way they scheduled the two shows indicates they expect guests on Main Street (and in the hub area) to watch the fireworks from generally the same area they watched PtN. It's worth noting that PtN exits Main Street only about 5 minutes before fireworks is slated to start. You can probably do the same thing you did at MK for DL. Be on Main Street (note that CMs will not allow you to stand in the walkways or doorways to the shops) and then as soon as the parade passes by, join the guests along the parade route and head out onto the Main Street.

If possible, I would aim to the right side of Main Street (when facing the castle) and as close to the end as possible (so closer to the Hub than Town Square). They raise a globe/sphere shaped projection screen on the left(ish) side of the castle (when facing from Main Street) and you'll want to be able to see it. It's got an image of Oogie Boogie on it in the photo below. The castle is the bluish object at the center bottom of the photo.

The same HS projections are viewable at Its a small world too right? I watched a YouTube video the other day of it.

In the past they have been, so I hope that they do so again this year. The only thing is that you won't really be able to see the flying Zero interacting Jack from IaSW (they do project an image of Zero flying about, but it's not the same!).

DD and I grabbed a spot near IASW maybe 20 min before it started. It was a great viewing location and nice not to waste precious party time waiting around!

Sounds like our group will have to take a vote on Main St or IASW area. Spend less time waiting around near IASW or devote more time to waiting in Main St and get to see Zero. He's a big deal with our group. We're huge Nightmare fans and my brother (who will be with us) named his now dearly departed sweetheart of a dog Zero.

So, to make sure I'm getting this right. After the parade passes, they allow guests to stand actually IN Main St? If that's the case, merging into the chaos might not be too bad, as far as getting a spot goes that is.

Yes, guests stand on Main Street to watch fireworks. They generally try to keep the sidewalks open for traffic.
