Halloween sailing - any difference for shows, dress code, schedule, etc.?

We have booked a September cruise on Fantasy (Western Caribbean) for a special occasion, but realized that the September/October cruises are Halloween themed... Aside from the décor, I wonder what else will be different on a Halloween cruise:

- Is any day designated as a "costume" day? Would that replace one of the formal or pirate dress days?
- Any special shows for Halloween? And do some of the regular shows get replaced?
- How do kids go TorT on the ship?
- Would the food/beverage be Halloween-themed too?

If you've been on one of the Halloween sailings before, how did you like it as an adult, and how about for your kid(s)? Thanks all!

There is one day designated as "Halloween" on the cruise. However, the Halloween decorations (primarily in the atrium) are up the whole cruise. There are Halloween related activities on that day, including a costume contest, trick or treating (of a sort - in the atrium), as well as (usually) a showing of Nightmare Before Christmas with a Jack and Sally meet & greet. Also, rooms that have children get a small bag of treats in their room.

Sometimes a Cruise Meet group may set up room to room trick or treating (only those rooms in their group, not the whole ship).

There is a Halloween night for everyone to dress in those costumes, if you want. It doesn't replace the other usual nights or the usual shows. The TOT is held in the atrium area. I don't remember any special foods at dinner, but the drink specials were themed with Halloween related names.

Thanks! I like Halloween but wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy a whole week of it if it's too overdone (like spider webs everywhere, blood-shot eyeballs or brains for dessert etc.)

I've done two Halloween cruise this, and I don't remember anything being gruesome like that. It's more lighthearted with jack-o'-lanterns and creatively carved watermelons. The characters will wear their Halloween costumes on at least one of the days, so that could be fun to get some pictures especially if you all dressed up also. You'll see lots of creative costumes on the guests, but many people are just wearing what they would wear on the cruise anyway. If you have a chance come I do recommend going to the adult Costume contest, because some people are incredibly creative.

Well, the decorations are mainly in the atrium area, but there are spider-webs (of a sort) and jack o lanterns:

And there's a pretty cool spiderweb looking decal on the portholes, I'll have to see if I can find a picture.

Here's an idea if the decorations on board.
