We have had to postpone our august trip and we are thinking of October 31st to the 4th.

assuming they ave a Halloween party on the 31st do you need park admission for that day or just a party ticket?

When do these tickets generally go on sale?

What is the weather like this time of year? still able to use the hotels pool?

Also what time do the halloween parties start? we would be landing in SNA at about 2 in the afternoon

If you are only planning on going to the park FOR the party, then you only need a party ticket.

They haven't anounced when the tickets go on sale or what the party dates are as of yet. They should be announcing this any day now. They usually have a party on Halloween. You can read more about this on the Halloween thread here: http://www.disboards.com/threads/halloweentime-at-dlr-superthread-4-no-news-for-2016-yet.3270919/

It's still warm/shorts weather in October but it gets cool in the evening so, you will probably need a light jacket. I'm sure many others swim in the pool at this time of year.

If you don't land until 2:00 on the 31st I would buy a ticket just for the party. With party admission you can enter the park three hours before the party starts (if the party starts at 6:00 you can enter the park at 3:00). So then if you are planning to go to the parks on the 1st-3rd you only need admission for those days which may save you some money! Here is a thread with lots of info

As for the weather I would guess it will be cooler. I know for me coming from AZ it would be WAY too cold to swim. We don't even swim here at that time of the year but I guess it would depend on what you consider cold!

Coming from northern Canada we probably think of cold a little differently lol .

Thanks for the info !!!

October weather in Southern California can be crazy. Last year the heat didn't abate until mid November/Thanksgiving. The weather can be cool and rainy, warm to hot, or too darn hot (think 85* F at 10pm -- definitely swimming weather!). If you decide you want tickets to MHP, buy as soon as they go on sale because the party on the 31st always sells out. Tickets for the general public are rumored to go on sale at the end of this month.

85* is not swimming weather for me!! Gotta be over 100*!! But again I'm freezing when it's 60* ;)
