We are working on planning our trip for the last week of October. We are going to head over to FW for dinner at HDDR. We would like to wander around after dinner to check out the decorations. Will there be lots displays up a few days before Halloween? Is it frowned upon for non-FW guests to wander around and check the decorations out? What about right on Halloween? (we would not allow our kids to trick-or-treat, we understand that that is intended for the FW guests only)

It will be decorated, we were there 2 weeks before Halloween last year, and a lot of the sites were decorated. It is a lot of fun to go around the loops to see, some people go all out. You can take a bus to different loops and walk around. Or walk to some loops from the Settlement. Have a great time!

. . . sounds like a good plan
. . . also, stay for the FREE campfire (fire, autographs, marshmallows, singalong, movie)

. . . you betchya
. . . the folks at The Fort are decorating wackos
. . . we even decorate our cabin (we don't do campsites)

Is it frowned upon for non-FW guests to wander around and check the decorations out?
. . . absolutely not
. . . actually, campers ARE PROUD of their decorating talents, or lack thereof

What about right on Halloween?
. . . that is one of the best nights
. . . folks dress-up and even do trick-or-treating at many sites

. . . who said this?
. . . when we have stayed, I am sure non-Fort-guests came around

Great. Thank you both so much! We are leaning towards Halloween. We're doing MNSSP the night before and are looking for something fun to do right on the date.

We will also be visiting and will be there on Halloween. We have dinner reservations in Epcot at night but was wondering is there is anything special we could or should do during the day on Halloween...special shows in the parks, events at the resorts, etc. :joker:

:thumbsup2 We planned our 10/30 as a day at Fort Wilderness and we rented a golf cart just so we can drive around and see the decorations at night...can't wait!!!! :cool1:
