i am new to disboards and need alittle reassurance. i bit the bullet and bought tickets to the halloween party and need someone to let me know that it is worth the money and that my kids will have an awesome time. thanks!

Hopefully people who have been will chime in soon, but I know I've seen reports and pics in the Halloween Super Thread that convinced me to go next year! My 6yo son about lost his mind when he saw all the candy another family had collected, and there are so many villains to meet as well as others in special H'ween costumes.
My one caveat for going is that that day we will go to the beach or hang by the pool or something and NOT burn one of our days on our Parkhopper tickets. We'll just enter when they allow party people in the afternoon. Otherwise, I'd feel like I bought two tickets for one day, KWIM?

GL!

It's worth going to at least once. If your kids have never been, they will absolutely adore it!

Be absolutely certain to catch the fireworks. The soundtrack is as impressive as the visuals. There's a real palpable energy in the park that's different from daylight hours. Its indescribable but you'll know it and feel when you attend!

My family has gone 3 times and we love it. My kids are older too (12 and 16 this year). But they both tell me that it was so fun to get the candy (tons of it!!!) and ride the rides (most of which have very short lines because so many of the party attendees are more interested in some of the special party stuff. And the fireworks show was amazing last year. We plan to go again this year!

thanks so much for all of the input. i am sure we will have a great time it just seems like alot of money in addition to our hopper passes but DH keeps telling me that you only live once! B-)

We are going for the first time this year. We were at the parks during Halloween time last year but not while there were parties and my kids asked to go this year. I loved the park decorations at Halloween and the characters dressed up in costumes. Considering that you can get in at 3PM with your Halloween party ticket, we have decided to make that a beach morning, then swim and rest up before getting dressed for the party, that way we don't use a Park Hopper day.

Make sure to check out the Halloween super thread here:

We LOVE the Halloween Party! In fact we'll be in WDW when their first parties start this year and we HAVE to go (even though it'll be mid September and no where near Halloween mode for our brains). It's definitely worth it. If you are going to the parks as well as the party, I'd use the party time to concentrate on the party festivities instead of rides, when else can you dance with your favorite characters or meet rarer characters and classic characters in their Halloween costumes. The fireworks are amazing. I haven't seen the parade they do in Disneyland (last party we went to was at DCA).

I like how your husband thinks! :thumbsup2

I went to the party last year on a girls only trip no kids and loved it! Im taking my 16 & 17 year old this year and I can't wait. Unfortunatley i went last year on the opening night and it was packed so that was the only drawback. Fireworks are AWESOME!!! and they had a lot of great photo ops. too! :cool1:

In 2009 I went to the one in WDW and that was awesome too and i took my son who was 15 at the time and he loved it!

Go you and your kids will enjoy it! :yay:

The only drawback i can see is if it rains! No one likes it to rain on their parade ;)

I went to the party in WDW in Sept in the past and it was great you forget it's only September.

Are you doing their free dining as well?

we went last year in horrible weather, but we had an amazing time, rain even cleared enough for the parade & fireworks to go ahead.. :wizard:
