Is Mickey's Not so very scary halloween party...
Worth every penny? Fun if you have the time? Not worth the money?

So worth it we are trying to fit a small trip in again to do it again this year.

We did it last year for DD12 's b-day on the 27th .But this year we have a DVC ressie for MVMCP.

DD and myself love Holloween and DW said she really like it last year and for me to try to work it in somehow. So I have to wait for DD school calender to come out so I don't have to take her out of school as I'm takeing her out already for a few days for X-mas.

My DS took her three kids third week of October 2004 and thought it was a complete waste of money . . . she said it was so packed that they couldn't see any of the extras going on, and the lines for the rides were insane. :confused3

Do they sell different numbers of tickets for different nights? Because we were there Halloween night 2004 (presumably they were sold out) and it wasn't crowded compared to the Saturday night we'd already spent at MK that week. And surely Halloween night would be sold out if any night was (it was a Friday).

I would say that it is definitely a must do if you have the time. I would also say that the earlier in the season the smaller the crowds. It is a special time that has a lot of special things. The hallowishes is amazing. My wife and I are making a special trip in September just to go to the Party.

We went last October and liked it so much we're doing it again this year. Mid-month, it was not crowded, there were no waits at all for any of the rides that night. Lots of villians, the headless horseman is not to be missed. The fireworks were awesome, too.

Definately worth every penny!!! :hmghost:
We love Halloween and go every year!! The Boo-To-You parade and Hallowishes fireworkes are awesome!! There are so many characters out ( a lot of rare ones too ). Lines are short for the rides, many of them are "walk-ons"...never had a problem with crowds, the biggest crowds you will find are for the fireworks and for the parade ( try to see the 2nd one...much less crowded ). Just a whole lotta fun!! So get your costume together and go for it!!! :maleficen
**Although the party doesn't officially start until 7pm...you can get into the park anytime after 4pm!!

Enjoy!!!

I would of done this, but they are only having it on the 29th for the week we are there, and we are going to Halloween at universal that night. Bummer!

definitely worth every penny. We were there mid-month on a weekday. We walked on 90% of the rides, the kids loved the costumes, they scored 4 bags of candy, and the parade was amazing. The only time crowds were an issue, is at the parade. pirate:

Definitely worth it for us. We've only went on weeknights so maybe that's why we didn't experience huge crowds and long lines. I would suspect that weekends are much more crowded. We didn't even bother with getting too much candy. But as we left the park, they were giving tons of it away.
The parade and fireworks are great. You also may see some characters you normally wouldn't see (like the 7 dwarfs).

Worth every penny to me! I would have gone twice in one week last fall if it would have worked out. I adore every minute of it - especially the spectacular Hallo-wishes, the Boo to You parade, and when the villains come out to play on the forecourt of the castle. Not to mention walk on rides and my very favorite three times in a row as fast as I could walk through the queue...BTMR at night!!! The atmosphere is so fun.

Now I'm feeling sad that I'm not going to get there this year.

DW and I went last year and had a blast, shows, rides, costumes, and characters all made the party a hit for us, very much worth the money. Don't miss it... party:

Digskat: Did you make that little Bell Hop outfit? How cute!

I need to start thinking about our costumes!!

My MIL made it. We asked him what character he wanted to be, and he chose the ToT Bellhop. We got a few pictures, and MIL made the costume. She also made DD's Jasmine costume , and DD was tickled pink, when Jasmine told her that she needed to speak to MIL because DD's outfit was nicer than hers.

I went there in 2002 for the first time and loved it so much I had to go again in 2003 and was there in 2005... All the way from Belgium so I can enjoy the Halloween party... YES, worth every penny

We went last year for the first time (with a 6 year old and 3 year old).

Well worth it -- in fact, we will likely do it again this year.

No issues with the lines for rides and the parade and fireworks were great.

The kids loved the costume aspect of it -- in fact my 6 year old daughter got alot of comments from kids and parents on her Jo-Jo costume -- so much so that she started to wave to the folks like she was part of the whole show.

The only really long lines we saw were for pictures with the characters to get candy --- so we stayed away from that and focused on the rides.

Just have your camera ready for the start of the parade as I missed the headless horseman coming through -- they don't really pre-announce that so you need to listen for it.

We just decided to attend the party this year at the urging of several DIS members after I discovered that for our family of 5, MNSSHP tickets would cost virtually the same as the park hopper option on our MYW tickets. So we are giving up the park hopper "option" for straight tickets to justify the extra expense. We have a 5 year old who is going to be the most excited kid at WDW on Sept. 29th. What kid doesn't want to trick or treat whether it's Halloween night or not! :) You can find lots of reviews of last years party on allearsnet.com under "rate & review" and I've been reading TGM planning & touring advice as well which I think is very good and very detailed. His info will all be updated for 2006 after he attends the first party on Sept. 15th.

Anytime you can have extra time in a park go for it. I found the Halloween fireworks to be the best I've seen at WDW. The later you stay the better the party becomes. Crowds thin out after the fireworks. If you skip the parade and fireworks, you will love how fast it is to get on the rides, etc.

Disney controls attendance for this event. This means it doesn't get as crowded as it could get at times. My one hint would be to go to a different park during the day and use the Halloween party to see MK. Then you'll have another day to enjoy another park rather than MK; because, you were able to see it at night. I have to tell you some rides at night are fabulous like Thunder Mountain. If you really like MK then you can have an extra day at MK. It's a win win either way.

You are there anyway; so, I believe in utilizing as many hours at the parks, as possible. Now, if you can't handle a long day then you may not get your monies worth. Noone can speak for someone's stamina.
