Tickets went on sale today and since my daughter and her boyfriend will be at F&W in October, I thought that I would buy the tickets for her as a birthday present. OMG!!!!! Last year they were $74.00+tax. This year (same approx. date) the cost is $91+tax!!! :faint: And no AP/DVC discount for the days that she will be at Disney.

And like a fool, I bought them anyway because she really wants to go at least once.

I feel the same as you only about MVMCP. We're still going to go even though tickets are $18 more than what we paid last year. I just want my 2 year old to be able to meet Eugene with Rapunzel :) However, I am hoping they get a lot of negative comments on their blog post.

I think you may be comparing apples to oranges. If you go during peak nights, the price is higher.

I just checked for me and the price is only $72. A dollar more than last year. Plus there is the AP/DVC discount.

I've done it a few times in the past, but after last years crowds and this price increase I am done. If attendance was a little more limited I wouldn't mind the increase, last year was crazy crowded though, and I doubt it will be any more limited this year.

I agree. I went last year for the first time. It was so crowded, you could not get down main st after entering the park. I might try again this September. I am hoping it won't be so crowded.

We have never been to any of the parties, but I would like to go to the Halloween party someday. Just can never get away from work at that time of year.
That stinks how much the price has gone up - but what a wonderful gift for your daughter!!

Here's the thing...as long as people like you and myself are willing to pay these prices, Disney will charge them. If raising the cost of admission makes more people rethink their plans, then the parties will be less crowded. Lower crowds mean an increase in customer satisfaction. I hate that I'm contributing to Dis-flation, but she's been in medical school for the last 4 years without many breaks. She's been looking forward to F&W and MNSSHP ever since she heard about them. (Plus, I had no idea what to buy her for her birthday, so this made it easy.) So, I held my nose and paid for the tickets. It will probably be the last time that I pay for any extra event like this. Thankfully, I used a GC that I bought with Target GCs I earned from rewards programs. It lessens the sting.

I said that I was comparing the price for similar dates from last year. And no AP/DVC discount for those dates.

we have never been at Christmas time and was seriously thinking about doing MVMCP. but not at $91+ tax x 3. Plus so many posts last year about how every year the crowds are bigger and bigger. I have Disney Visa Rewards so I can afford to, but as a consumer I chose not to give in to price increases like that.

We went in 2007 when adult tickets were just over $40 with advanced purchase. Glad we went but no way would I pay $270 for our family to do this. Clearly others will. There's just not a lot of value at WDW for us.

We started attending the Halloween parties in 2001 when my DS was 4. The tickets back then were about $30 with tax. We have been lucky enough to attend a party every year since. Last year, we attended the 9/22 party. It was sold out and by far the most crowded party we have ever attended.

Add the increase in party prices and the drastic increase in crowd size and we are sitting out this year. Very sad, but the parties just aren't what they used to be :(

the price increase itn's a big deal to me - DH and I are plannign to purchase tickets for 2 parties next year - so roughly 400 - its easy enough if you budget for it in advance

I agree with you and honestly if I felt that enough people would boycott that it would make a difference I probably would too. It helps that my daughter is still free. I'm just hoping that this price point will lower the crowds a little.

We went last year on oct. 22nd I think it was. It was a Thursday for sure. I was worried because of hearing all the reports of how bad crowds were since our last party in 2009 but crowds weren't an issue at all. We rode several attractions back to back. In fact, we rode BTMRR 5 times ina row with absolutely zero wait. Just got off, walked around, and got right back on. It was great. As far as the price increase, I don't like it but I will pay it simply because we use it as a regular park day to ride rides and we have always gotten so much done during a party.

We went to a Tuesday night Christmas party mid November last year. It was fun. But it was a one and done for me, I am glad there were only two of us that went, I don't think my family would enjoy it as much as my daughter and I did. For the cost I'd rather add a day or two onto our trip.
