Halloween Party Mystical Spirits Dinner...Would you go?

I am going with a friend next week. We opted not to purchase MHP tickets since we were not interested in trick or treating, M&G, etc. However, I would have enjoyed Halloween Screams...but not for $77.
When they released the Mystical Spirits, I was bummed I did not buy a MHP ticket (9/25 was already sold out by the time the announcement was made). I would totally spring for this. Hopefully it is not a disappointment like some of their other events turn out to be...Diamond Luau anyone?
I would probably wait on reports before I would plank down the money...even though I am willing to do it for the first night. :flower:

If I had the extra cash and were going for more than just 2 days, I might spring for it. It is pretty pricy though, IMO. I also don't know for US personally, if DH and DD would be able sit still for that long, eating. We are Go Go Go Park people, so it would be a bit of a struggle to be sitting in one spot for that long. KWIM?

Personally it's not something that would interest me. I like live entertainment but meeting characters isn't that important to me. The food sounds good though, and I like that it includes a special viewing area for the fireworks.

If it's your first Halloween party, I think the priority would be to experience the party, and maybe do the dinner the following year if it's still offered. I would also say it's maybe not the worth it for families with children, since the menu is so limited.

We are doing two MHPs, so we added the BB dinner to the 1st one, which being a weekend party, I think will be the busier night. DD is a Disney adult technically now, so I would have had to pay full price for a meal at BB anyway (unless we got a gracious server) so that would be $50 pp easily as it is. Add in the prime viewing for the fireworks, which we love and still a good hour more to "party" after and it was a done deal. I double checked with DD and we were planning a BB dinner anyway and since we are doing two parties she was excited to do this special event.

Just DW and me (we have no children), and we have done the party for the last several years, we just don't want to miss the M&Gs / photo ops. The second party would afford us more time to complete what we want...plus with the reserved viewing of fireworks and PtN during the 1st party, the 2nd party we can spend that time on rides with little to no wait.

This is my biggest concern...:scared:

I am close to making my decision...I will update if we decide to attend.

Thanks again for the responses.:thanks:

I'm going to the event on the 25th. I like the program enough to want to go. I cancelled my Fantasmic reservation and will adjust the budget accordingly to attend. I'm not interested in going on all the rides since I will have already been to the park for 6 days and will make sure I get my share of rides in. This is the last day of my vacation and I figure it is a great way to end it.

Our family friend just booked it for her and her husband while the kids/cousins (pre-teen/teens) run around and trick or treat. I think when my kid and her cousins are old enough to go on their own, I would find it to be a wonderful break for us parents to relax and eat and still be close enough if the kiddos needed anything.

The price seems pretty reasonable considering the private seating. Many people used to pay the Dessert Package seating and that was about $100.

I’m hoping that it is not dissappointing too. I reserved it for our family of four (Me, DH, DS-10 and DD-13). We have annual passes so we are not worried about missing out on the rides, I just hope that we have time to do some trick or treating afterwards. Does anyone here know what time (if there is a time before party is over) they stop giving out candy? I have been to some of the previous parties but for the life of me, I can't remember if they stop at some time.

We added a 2nd party just to do this dinner package. It is pricey especially since my 3 and 6yr olds will not eat any of the dinner but it's the fireworks that sold us.

Unless the description has been updated I don't believe the Mystical dinner include PtN parade seating it only mentions the fireworks.

you're right...I don't know why I thought it included PtN. That's OK, we will watch the parade on Tuesday, Thursday, or the 2nd party night. Thank you for the info.

I haven't been following the dinner closely and also wanted to make sure your decision didn't hinge on on the parade aspect. My brother and SIL are going (someone else is paying for our trip and the travel agent suggested this). It will be a fun evening for the two of them and definitely a memorable experience.

Boy Oh Boy, I am still struggling with this one. I have tickets for the first event next Friday night, but sometimes I think that I might cancel. I emailed Disneyland just to clarify that it is viewing and not seating for the Fireworks and if we would be escorted to that location in time to see the PtN. I also inquired where exactly the Premium Viewing is. The response I received was;

"There will be reserved viewing for the Halloween Screams firework spectacular, however the area is still being
determined as we have a couple options. At this time, we are not able to confirm if it will be seating or standing.

Due to the timing of the event, the Mystical Spirits group will be walking to the reserved viewing location while
the Paint The Night Parade is going, therefore you will have a hard time viewing the parade from the
reserved viewing location.
"

It will be just my DH and I, and we are not into Meet and Greets, we would only do a couple of rides, but we do want to Trick or Treat and just enjoy the atmosphere of the party. I would think that doing the dinner would still give us enough time to do that???

Well, we decided to go for it. Thanks again to all that shared opinions and insight.

@2SillyBirds from my past experiences at the party, after the fireworks the lines for candy diminishes as most people head for the exits...this will also open up some time for rides.

I'm going with my DS11. I was debating it already & then I saw the priority viewing for Halloween Screams. That really sold me. It will be nice to get a great viewing spot without having to wait 2 hours.
