Halloween Party costume Contest, did it happen last night?

Are they still doing the kids costume contest for a chance to ride the parade floats? DD's Jack Sparrow costume looks great, if I do say so myself, and older DD is teaching her Jack's "walk". She's a born entertainer, would love to get up there and show off the costume!

THEY ARE STILL DOING IT. and i bet she would look adorable just like my dd did last year. she had so much fun

I was so afraid, in light of other changes, like the end of the free photo, that they had done away with it. She is such a hoot! I made the pants and vest from this fabric that looks like distressed leather (not heavy or hot though!) and lined the vest in a dull red fabric. The shirt is a natural color muslin with laces up the front. Sash from a dull gold fabric with a sheen to it, head scarf of red & white striped cotton. Add to that the kit she found at Toys r Us with Jacks head scarf complete with dreadlocks (!), sword, compass, bling-y rings and boots she bought today. Too funny! NOw just to get that strutting walk down!

My DS has the walk down perfectly. Tell your DD to pretend that she's drunk and walking on a swaying floor. Perfect!
