We will be in DL Sunday Oct 5- Saturday, October 11. It will be my husband, my mother, myself and our 3 kids ages 2, 4 & 6.

I am trying to decided which night to go to the Halloween Party,
Wednesday the 8th or Friday the 10th.

Right now Touring Plans has the crowd level listed as a 2 over all for Wednesday and a 6 over all on Friday. On the day we choose to do the party we will not be going to the parks during the day.

Im trying to decide if it makes more since to do the Party Friday and enjoy the low crowds all day Wednesday? Or enjoy a quieter night at the Halloween Party Wednesday? :confused3 Any Advice?
This will be our first trip to DL with our kids :)

I'm just trying to plan as well. Where did you find the dates? The calendar is not up yet is it? We also want to do WOC, so I'm trying to plan which nights to do which. We'll be there the 9th-14th.

I read this blog post:

They list the dates and when they go on sale.. When planning I was using last years dates to go off out so I was planning on going to the Party on Tuesday the 7th but I see now thats not an option.

I highly recommend hopping over to the HalloweenTime SuperThread. It has a lot of good information.

The party starts at 6 pm on Wednesday and at 7 pm on Friday. If operating hours are similiar, then DL will open at 8 pm on both Wed and Fri. If last year is any indication, then both parties will sell out and the crowds will feel roughly the same. In other words, I don't think the crowds at the MHP will be/feel markedly different between Wed and Fri (at least last year a sold out Tuesday and a sold out Friday felt the same to me) , so it's mainly a matter of the daytime crowds. In that way, I do think Wed will be quieter in the parks during the day.

We went for the first time (since '99) in 2012 M-Thur and not really knowing what crowd levels meant & such so I bought a four day PH plus the party tix for Monday. The party day was our first day in the parks and we were there until about 3pm and came back for the party around 5pm. Our party was sold out and while that seemed like a recipe for craziness we rode every (open) ride that night, some 2 & 3 times AND did all the trick or treat lines! Since we had nothing to compare it to we were pretty happy with it BUT this year I'm doing what you're doing- buying 3 day PH and party tix for the fourth day so on party day we will be hanging out by the pool or DTD until the party opening on Tuesday. I suppose it depends on what your goals are overall.

I usually pick weekdays for the party, but have been many times on the weekend. They keep the ticket sales low on purpose, hopefully to make it an enjoyable night for all. I look at how late do I want to stay up, since the weekends end later.

Just to give some perspective for the OP, "low" is a relative term regarding MHP. A sold out party can mean 40,000+ guests, so, while that is low compared to a packed day at DL (approx. 70,000-80,000 guests), it isn't quite the empty park that some people seem to expect. And DCA will get more crowded as non-party goers leave DL and head over to the other park. Last year, Disney did not seem to be trying to keep ticket sales low -- it felt like just the opposite. We'll see if the higher prices this year help to keep the numbers under control
