For those of you that have gone at both Halloween and Christmas which would you recommend? What sort of stuff do they have on at both events?

If we go for the Halloween event it may be either early October or on for the Halloween Party and we go for the Christmas event it would be early December. I love the idea of Halloween but December is a lot cheaper.

Hi I highly recommand Christmas. The decoration and christmas parade are amazing. It's my favorite season at DLRP. You also have "snow" falling in Main Street. It's very cold but it worth it. If you have a flexible shedule, the best moment is November because it's less expensive and during the week this is not crowded. And you have all this magical christmas atmosphère.
I've also been there during the Halloween season, it's also well themed. For me it's amazing because in France we rarely celebrate Halloween, so it's kinda exotic. But In general people prefere christmas at DLRP. The Christmas school holidays is the most crowded time of the year.
If you're going early December it's ok.
I've never been to Halloween party, I only know than there is a special event but from what I have heard it's not as great as in the US parks.

Whichever you go for avoid the French school holidays - they get 2 weeks end of Oct into Nov, the 1st and 11th of Nov (both public holidays) and any weekends in December.

I prefer Christmas over Halloween as I think they do more with Christmas - There's more decorations, more little extras like the chalets selling muled wine, roast chestnuts etc in the Village, tree lighting etc etc

Halloween is nice but Christmas is special

I love Halloween at DLP! Last year when I went they had a Halloween Cavalcade, Main Street and Frontierland were all decked out with ghosts, pumpkins and autumnal decorations. Jack and Sally were greeting, you could meet Minnie and Stitch in their Halloween costumes and it was just great. We went in half term week (the first weekend) and although it was busy we managed to get on all the rides we wanted. Carrie is right though; if you can avoid school holidays then it is better.
