Does Halloween Nights start the last weekend in September, or not til October?

It began the first week of October last year. Actually Busch Gardens Tampa's Howl-O-Scream began at the end of September.

Is there an additional cost for the Halloween nights ?? Anyone who has gone to these in the past - could you provide a brief summary (we have something similar at Six Flags Great America, and it is a blast !!) Thanks !!
