I need some advise from folks who have been in Florida for the actual night of 31st October

We've done the MNSSHP a couple of times and plan to do that again but this year my DD (age 9) asked if we could go to that on Halloween night. To be honest I would imagine this would be heaving so I was planning on going another night and then just seeing what's going off locally on the actual night.

Can you tell me what other activities go off on the 31st -i.e. does anything extra go off at Epcot or the Boardwalk?

Am I right in thinking that the MNSSHP will be packed out on the 31st? Last year we went mid October and it was so quiet we walked on virtually everything and when the fireworks were on we nipped on Buzz and were the only ones on!

Thanks in advance

I'd be interested to know this too. We have planned to do MNSSHP on 1st November rather than 31st October because we assumed it would be heaving too.

We've not been before, but will be going this year...we only arrive on the 30th so planning to do MNSSHP on the 31st. I've been warned it is likely to be busy, but apparently both the 31st of Oct and the 1st of Nov have been sell outs in the past so are likely to be equally busy :confused3

Apparently they used to do halloween stuff, like trick or treating, at DTD but that was stopped last year.

I think the DVC resorts like OKW do extra activities for halloween.

I have a print out from last year or the year before for OKW with things like halloween crafts, pumpkin carving contests and best fancy dress costume contests.

We've never been there on 31st before but will be this year.

My plan is MK in the morning - BBB and CRT breakfast.

Then back to OKW - fingers crossed they do some sort of activities.

Then i'm planning on California grill for dinner and hopefully watch hallowishes at 9.30pm from there.

Last year there was no trick or treating at DTD - think it was too popular and crowded so they stopped it for safety reasons. I think Celebration is residents only on halloween.

Seaworld does a spooktacular event - not sure if it is running on actual halloween this year. We did it last year and it was fun and included in normal admission.

Having been for the past 4 years during Halloween the best Halloween night we have ever had was at Fort Wilderness Campground.

All the RV's are decorate to the Max!!, and you can trick or treat around the resort also, everyone was sooo friendy

There is usually a Halloween themed movie on also at Chip & Dales Campground Sing a Long which adds to the night time theme.

One evening Halloween we attempted to venture into DTD and left within 10 minutes. It was so packed out that like the PP has already mentioned Disney cancelled last years event due to safety reasons.

Even though it might be sold out, there is a limit on tickets sold for the party...somewhere I heard it's capped at 20000 each night.
Not sure about the number .

Been there a couple of times on Halloween (rather than near it) and the resorts usually have some activity going on. One year at CSR they had a CM pumpkin decorating competition where the guests voted for their favourite. One year they definitely had kids crafts by the pool too.

Have done MNSSHP the night before Halloween but never actually on the 31st - it was manic on the 30th and not at all enjoyable with the huge lines. Wouldn't do it again on that date as the parade is important to us and a good view is nigh on impossible.

Oh dear.:sad2: We have got little choice as we don't arrive until 29th Oct, so it will be Halloween or 1st November for us. I hate crowds. Looks like I'm going to be there when it's really busy.

uh oh...now I am nervous! We were planning on doing MNSSHP on the 31st too but now I don't now if that is such a good idea. I mean I am sure we will still have fun but I don't know if I feel like paying double to be a sardine in a costume for the night! Something to think about hmmm....At least I have a couple more months before tickets go on sale to decide!

Thanks for the replies everyone

One of the things we love about the MNSSHP are the walk ons and low crowds for parades and fireworks.

Will definitely be looking to book tickets for earlier on in the holiday and then hopefully there will be other things going off on the night in our resort

we have been twice,on the 31st.each time we entered the park at 4p.m & did all the rides we wanted to do then,as the waits were minimal each time.
once 7p.m arrived,we concentrated on all the party activities.the trick or treat lines, moved pretty steadily & we got round them all.
the longest queue for us,was for the 7 dwarves, but in my opinion, that photo op,is worth the wait.
i would definately go on the 31st again.can't beat being there,on the night.
