Hey guys! thinking about Halloween night, have done mnsshp many times so it's not on the cards this trip, fancied dinner at ohanas then watching hallowishes from beach! We will all be dressed up, will we likely be the only people in the restaurant in costumes? .., and are there characters in the evening?
If anyone has a better idea, please say.. :)

Good idea, though, already booked chef mickey for the week after, there's 13 of us, so I had to get my ressies in as soon as I could for the most popular places, thank you though! :)

I don't think you will find many adults dressed in costumes outside of the MK. I have never seen any.

You could try Downtown Disney as there is a bit of a "to-do" over there for Halloween with trick or treating and such. Don't know how many adults dress up for it though. And no fireworks, and no character meals.

Oh ...? I've seen YouTube vids of DTD at Halloween with whole families dressed up and our last mnsshp which was mid oct , there were plenty dressed up in chef mickeys :) ... I'm actually regretting not booking chef mickey for hallow night now, grr, pretty sure changing it now with such a large group might be tricky, bah

If it's got to be a character dinner, it's got to be near MK and Chef Mickey's is out, the only thing left is 1900 Park Fare. The only other character dinner not located inside a park is at the Swan resort (not Disney, so no dining plan).

We aren't using dining plan, but thank you, I'm thinking of 1900 park fare for our last night...
The painful truth here which I can no longer deny, is that I actually in my heart want to do mnsshp, I neeeeeed to dress up and have good old fashioned fun and soak up the atmosphere while having the best time with my little ones... Sigh,
Just got to work on the rest of the group!! This trip is so far just for our 4 of the group Inc spends £6000 which is about 10.000 dollars .. So naturally everyone is reluctant to spend anymore ... I'm gonna work on that though hehe... Just watch me ;)

We are going to do trick or treating in DTD. I don't want to pay an extra $60 per person for 5 of us to go trick or treating at MNSSHP when you can do it for free at DTD. From what I have read, whole families dress up for Halloween at Disney. I have never been to DTD during Halloween but I am sure they dress up there too. The only advice I can give you is, if you think you will feel out of place being an adult and being dressed up then just don't dress up. Simple. Just make sure the kids have a good time and that's all that matters. Halloween is meant for kids anyway.

Oh I have no problem dressing up, lol, just don't want to upset anyone, I'm from uk, and not sure of the American Halloween protocol, the kids love it when us adults get involved and dressed up too, my little girl will be upset if I don't.
DTD looks like fun! I know it's for the kids... But my view is we are a family and everyone gets in the spirit, .. (plus I'm a big kid hehe)
:)

My husband and I had early 'Ohana ADRs last Halloween----and there were plenty of people dining in costume----assuming of course they were headed over to MNSSHP, thereafter. I don't think you'd be the only costumed diners if you wanted to dress up!
