If anyone has any advice on the MNSSHP I'd love to hear it. We will be at the World from Sept 17th ot Oct 1st.
Any suggestions for this time of year would be welcomed.

That is our favourite time of year to go to WDW. Awesome weather and lower crowds. I think MNSSHP is the best event of the year. The theming if just amazing. Fireworks are out of this world and the parade is great. If you can dress up but you don't have to many people are not in costume.

We were just there for MNSSHP and absolutely loved it! Lots of adults wear costumes. They pass candy out during the parade, so the closer you are the better! ;) A word of caution: I was so intent on getting a picture of the Headless Horseman at the start of the parade, that I basically missed seeing him ride through! I was bummed. We were able to sit right up front on the ground along Liberty Square and thought our seats were great!

Are there 2 parades during the halloween party? Any suggestions on costumes? I'm thinking we might do the party twice. We loved the xmas party and DH wanted to do it twice.
I'd love to hear about other experiences with the halloween party.:goodvibes

I only remember there being one parade and it was a lot of fun! Make sure you hold out your trick-or-treat bags when Goofy drives by! There was seven of us in ages ranging from upper 60's to 7 years old. We dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland. The adults all wore Zazzle designed t-shirts with a pic of our character on the front and a quote from the character on the back. We also wore appropriate hats. My DD was Alice, and she was in full costume. I saw a lot of people dressed as Mouseketeers. We flew down so whatever we wore we wanted it to be packable. We also did the haunted coach ride at Fort Wilderness while we were there. It's a cool way to see the Headless Horseman up close and personal!

we took advice to wait for the 2nd parade and for our night (Sep 16) this was not good as the party grew more and more crowded, really contrary to all the other parties we'd been to.

also if the Liberty Belle is open for your party, do it! I was so sad that it was closed for our night, we missed most of the parade and never saw the headless horseman. we're booked for bounceback for Sep so maybe we'll try that haunted carriage ride!

Am looking at my brochure from when we went in Oct. and there was two parades, one at 8:15 and one at 10:30. Happy Hallo Wishes fireworks at 9:30.
We liked it but liked the Christmas Party better.
We had fun trick or treating around MK and we're adults.

Ok subscribing!~

Even though I'm going to be there in costume I'm still a little hesitant about the whole trick-or-treating thing. Do you have to stand in lines to get candy or are you assaulted with it? lol

We went to MNSSHP on October 8 last year...it was great! Nice smallish crowds. We:cool1: arrived around 4:30 and it was great to be going in while everyone else was leaving. Saw lots of characters and got lots of candy. There are lineups but they move fast! We saw the early parade and rode rides into the night. We were on Splash Mountain just as the second parade started. As it pulled up to the finish the cast member said: Wanna go again? THERE WAS NOBODY IN LINE! We rode Space Mountain as well and had to endure (ha ha) a 10 minute wait....most of that was taken up walking through the line! We really had a great time, even though we'd already spent 2 days at MK...our little ones hung on really well and enjoyed being all dressed up.

We did MNSSHP on Halloween night this year. It was a lot of fun but I think it would be even better on a night when it wasn't so crowded. We saw Cinderella's carriage, the villains, etc but, since we'd paid so much extra for the tickets, we decided not to waste our time in long lines. There was plenty to keep us busy. Because even a sold out MNSSHP is no where near as busy as a 'regular' park day, you can ride anything with no line (literally-Haunted Mansion on Halloween night was no line!)

You get a TON of candy. We actually still have a ziploc bag full...in February. LOL To answer Soscary, even on Halloween the lines weren't that long, they do move fast. We found if one was long, we'd just try another one. The trick-or-treat trail was the best spot for trick-or-treating and for character greeting. The CMs give you a handful of candy at each stop. The CMs at the gates, when you leave, were giving handfuls of Ghirardelli candied almond sqares (yum!) Hallowishes are the best fireworks I have ever seen anywhere, period. They're like the Epcot Illuminations meet MK Wishes but with a Halloween theme.

You have to dress up because you won't have the same experience if you don't. Our family had very unique Disney-themed costumes and we ended up getting a ton of attention (and extra candy) from the CMs because of it. We even got a standing O from the ladies at the booths at the TTC!

I would definitely say to do it!!!

If anyone wants any more info or pics, feel free to PM me.

Wow, really?:goodvibes I was sorta under the impression that the lines to the rides and candy would all be twice as long or something. That's great to hear!~ And yes my family will all be dressing up so it should be a great time. What did you guys go as? I'd love to see pictures if you have any:cool1:

We loved it. Sept is our favorite time to visit. We have done the MNSSHP and MVMCP and enjoyed the halloween party a lot more. It's fun to dress up (pirates and princess with tinkerbell and peter pan seem to be are usual). We always try to be at Cosmic Rays when the party starts, at 7 Sonny Eclipse lowers and Stitch comes up for a dance party.

You definitely don't have to line up for candy. Early in the night the candy stations are mobbed but they never run out they will replenish as the night goes on so just wait until later on. Your bags will be heaping.
