What is there to do in DW on Halloween other than the Halloween party in MK? I was hoping the kids could dress up and trick or treat in DTD but read an article the stores don't put out candy anymore. Could be wrong but I read that somewhere.
I'm booking our trip from 10/31-11/8.

Thanks!

The article is correct; DTD no longer hosts trick-or-treating. DisneyQuest held a party last Halloween (tickets cheaper than MNSSHP) that offered snacks and drinks, dance parties and characters, game play, and trick-or-treating. Most of the resorts also have a character or two present with some Halloween-centered games.

We're also there during Halloween and not planning on doing the party. Hoping the fact that we're at Disney World makes up for the potential of no trick or treating. :lmao:

When I was there last year at Pop Century they had a lot of festivities for Halloween. There was a contest to geuss the number of candy corns in a big jar, a dj out by the pool playing halloween music (Thriller, Ghostbusters, etc.) and they were going to have movie night with some family friendly halloween movies. It wasn't anything huge, but it is fun and in the spirit of things.

It's too bad no more trick or treating in DTD!

This is something we will look forward to! Do the kids dress up in their costumes? I know they will be disappointed they aren't trick or treating, as they love the idea of getting candy, but...I'm hoping being in Disney will be enough for them. :thumbsup2 I know the malls up here in NJ do trick or treating where we go to each of the stores and they hand out candy- maybe a mall or outlet around DW will have something like that.

Go to FW and trick or treat around the loops. It's awesome to do that.

I wasn't there that long because I was on my way to MNSSHP. I did not see people in costume, other than those on the bus to MK, but it was early. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to wear a costume, though I think most people's "costumes" were their swimsuits as most festiviteis seemed centered around the pool.

I find often the resort you are staying at will have some sort of actives. I know they did when we stayed at the contemporary one years and again at the boardwalk. So check the front desk of your resort to see if any actives are planned.

Couldn't find any info on trick or treating at Epcot but hope they are having it this year, we will do that if so.

Beerme was posting about trick or treating at Fort Wilderness.

There is a display of carved pumpkins in The Land Pavilion adjacent to the Garden Grill. You can vote for your favorite one, but I haven't seen any other Halloween activities in Epcot.

Oh ok thank you! I don't know what I was thinking. Lol
