Halloween Horror Nights!

Follow the advise about not using your Ep until you have to,even at that time of year some of the houses are still in semi daylight if done early so my advise is to get them all "ticked" off & then go back with your EP in darkness. This was particularly true for Doomsday last year,it was a whole lot better in the dark.
When we first started going (11 I think)Saturday was the busy night so any other wasn't too bad but since then it's just got busier & busier & not unusual to see lines well in excess of 2 hours.
I'm sure that you will all have a blast & it's most amusing listening to all the sreams of terror ...unless they're coming from you of course!:scared1:

As Universal was closing last year to re-open for HHN, dh and I were wondering, should we buy tickets and attend. I get in line at guest services.

When it's my turn, I ask the guest services person, "What's it like, should dh and I attend?"

Her answer: "If you have to ask, don't go."

We took her advice and enjoyed dinner and a great bottle of wine at Bice.

Oooh, that's good advice about the express passes. I agree, by being in line early, we should be able to walk into some of the houses without need for the passes. It'd be awesome to see some houses twice!!!:cool1:

The twenty minute rule is ours at WDW as well. I would hate to waste the whole night waiting in line. Do they post approximate wait times like WDW does?

the wait time for houses are posted and updated.

sometimes the update comes after you have been in line for 15 minutes and then realize, the time count was changed......

i do the first 3 houses while it is still light.
i repeat the houses with the epp later in the evening.
i keep to the 20 minute rule.

RHPS is back again this year.
that is another show you might be interested in seeing.
it's a musical based on the movie.

We have always had EP's. And, never start till about 10:00 or so with the houses! We enjoy walking the park and some cocktails.... then hit the houses!!!

In my experience at HHN...here's the secret. If you act scared walking around outside the scareactors will be all over you like ugly on an ape but if you don't act scared, they will pretty much leave you alone.

I have found that to be true as well and try as I might to act big and bad, they always know I am a jumpy one!

OP- have a great time at your first HHN! You will be so glad you bought the express passes!

Thanks! We are very excited, especially to surprise our sister. As far as I know, she still has no idea we're doing this. It will be neat to keep her in suspense about her "birthday surprise". I can't wait to see her face when we pull up!

I had a horrible dream related to HHN last night. I've always been too chicken to watch Saw. The mask always CREEPS me out! :scared1:

Anyway, I dreamt I was in the room with the dudes caged up and I was slowly being disemboweled and having limbs chopped off. Needless to say, I woke up in a complete panic worried the scary mask dude was in my room. We'll see how I do with the scare houses! :rotfl:

I forgot to mention something else about the Express Pass. This has happened to me on several occations where the person checking the express pass does nothing else but look at it and let you in...no scanning, hole punching or initials...If that's the case, you can technically still use it again later for that house because there is no way of them knowing. Now, I don't know if there is a reason behind it or if the TM (right?) is just being a nice person.:confused3 Oh well, just keep an eye out for that.

Sometimes that's true...especially early in the month. But as the month goes on the EP's are almost always scanned and can't be used again that night for that house.
