Halloween Horror nights 2012 info

We will be at Universal Sun Oct 21 and Mon Oct 22 this year. Are the weekdays they have the HHN from year to year the same?
I hope so or I'll need to move some stuff around to fit it in. I will not miss this event, it was so amazing back in '10 we are planning our whole central Florida vacation around it again.
Yes...for your dates, HHN will be on Sunday, October 21...nothing on Monday.

We're planning our first trip to HHN this year and I'm so excited. Can't wait till more information is available. I have lots of ticket questions --- I know it's early. I'm obsessed.

We (me, husband and 18 year old son) will be at RPR 4 nights Wed-Sat. How many nights will we need to see the whole HHN? Thinking about doing HHN wed and thurs because less crowds or should we do fri and sat too? also thinking about a tour...also wondering how much money an APH ticket would save me on HHN tickets. Oh, and do the property hotels usually offer an APH discount during October?

Sorry so many questions. No rush to answer...I have 6 long months to decide :)

There are people a lot more experienced at HHN than me but I've managed to squeeze in a few trips the past two years and this is my take on it...

We are going for four days this year as well. We're only taking three of those days for HHN but it'll be easy to see everything in that time. If you have park tickets, which I'm assuming you will, you can stay in the park and wait for HHN to start. It will still be light, but I actually like this time in the evening. Since you will be let into HHN before the crowd waiting at the gate, you should be able to get through three to four houses before that time. We usually leave the event around 9 or 9:30 and have always been able to see everything there is to see by that time. Usually we are able to go through almost all of the houses twice. I like to go several nights because each night is a unique experience...

They may have new ticket options this year, but the past two years I've gotten Frequent Fear passes. FF Plus will give you W, Th, and Fri (the Plus is the Fri. night). If you want to go Saturday, you will probably have to buy an extra night. Many people get Express Passes but the only time I got EP's is when I only had one night for the event. They are expensive for a family and I have not ever needed them. If we wanted to stay later in the night and go through the houses again with no wait, we would get them. But since we always get to see everything and don't want to stay late, they're not necessary for us.

I'm not sure when you're going but you may not be there on a week HHN is open on Wed... if you are, that probably indicates that the crowds will be heavier.

I felt it was worth it to have the AP last year for ticket discounts and I did get a good discount on our room as well. I made two seperate trips in October and having the AP saved me quite a bit of money! The hotels already have AP rates out for August, and even though there are no guarenteed discounts on rooms, I think they will have good rates again this year. If you look at the AP perks, it will give you the discount rate for HHN tickets.

Hope some of this helps!!! Have fun planning!!!

The AP discounts are excellent and the main reason I keep my AP year after year. ;)

I also get the FFP but I also get the Express added since I go throughout the month so crowds don't really matter to me. I don't do any of the attractions since I can do those during the day. At HHN...it's all about the houses and scarezones.

How accurate is the following information about 2012 hhn dates?

If this information is accurate, then my guesses were correct and all is good. :cool1:

Cheers!

First I've seen dates leaked, not an official Universal site...and it's wrong in that FFP has NEVER included Saturday nights (other than the first Saturday). Looks like this is, at best, placeholder text.

Thanks Momnum1 for the info! We'll be at Universal Oct 24-28, don't know if HHN will be on that Wed, but kind of hoping it is since it's so close to Halloween. I'm keeping my eye out for the AP discount on the hotel, but will probably get it to use for discount HHN tix plus the dining discounts too.

Thanks for the FF information. Are FF pass and FF plus two different tickets? I'm thinking we won't need the express pass if we can go 3 nights (and like you, I don't think we'll be staying until 2am....but I guess you never know)

Thanks again for answering my questions....I'm sure I'll have more!

So excited!

Yes and no... Frequent Fear Tickets are a type of ticket, but there are other types. Last year they had Rush of Fear (I think that was good for the first three weeks of the event), FF (or FF Plus which added Friday nights), and single night tickets. You can also add express to these tickets. Frequent Fear was good every Wed, Thurs, and Sun night of the event and then FF Plus added Friday nights to that. I hope they have that option again because we want to go Th, Fri, and Sun this year (so we would purchase 4 FFPlus's)... and go to HOS (Tampa) on Saturday. Or if we go to HOS on Friday, we would purchase 4 Frequent Fear passes and 4 Single tickets for Sat. night...

Someone... METRO :rolleyes1 if you're out there... will have to correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure you can get the HHN ticket discount until your AP is activated at the gate...

And I do agree w/Metro about the express passes... if you have any doubt about not getting to see all the houses/scarezones or if you just want the freedom to do the houses when you want and not have to plan around wait times, you should add express. But we're pretty comfortable doing what we do without EP's... we stay just long enough after dark to see the event that way and then we're out of there... Plus my poor legs can only take so much walking!

:love:HHN:love:

you need an activated AP to purchase hhn (discounted) tickets.

btw, sometimes the UK agencies, get different type of tickets for their clientel.
those in the states, aren't eligible to purchase some of those tixs.
both of the above posted sites are for the UK peeps.

Is it common for HHN tickets to sell out? If I wait to buy our HHN tickets after I have activated our AP will I risk the chance of not getting the tix? (our dates are oct 24-28)

So if my goal is to AVOID this event and we arrive on Nov 1 it will be back to normal park hours?
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure HHN tixs don't sell out... but express might on busy nights. I'm not sure about tours and things like that selling out, but not just regular tickets for the event.

The actual HHN tickets rarely sell out...Express Plus passes sell out depending on the date.

Yes...normal park hours will return November 1st.

Now I'm totally confused:confused3
I read so many but have a lot of questions.

We stay HRH 28th Oct. till 1st Nov. and want to go to the HHR ar one of the days.

As I now get it the HHN will be on 28th and 31st only.

What do I have to buy?
We have park admission with our OrlandoFlex Tickets for all days.
Is the Halloween Horror Nights - Frequent Fear Pass the right ticket?
Can they be purchased online from USA?

Does the Express Passes we have as we stay onsite work at the HHN?

Hope you get what I mean and my english is not too bad, as I'm frim Germany.

I understand what you mean. ;)

You would have to purchase a ticket for HHN and since this is a hard ticket event, everyone must have a ticket for entrance. Since you already have the theme park ticket, all you would need to purchase would be the HHN ticket at the Stay & Scream discount. You can do this after you have your tickets in hand at either park. You would not need the Frequent Fear Pass since you're only going to have time to do two nights at most. Once the 2012 prices come out, you can figure which option would be best for you.

Express Plus Passes are practically a requirement late in the month. If you go on Sunday night, I would advise purchasing them. If you waited until Halloween night, you might be OK without them. In the past when I've gone on Halloween night it hasn't been very busy.

Onsite perks do not extend to HHN so you cannot use the unlimited Express...that's only during normal park hours.
