I am debating whether to do this. Does it take place in both IOA and universal or just universal. What rides are open? If I go it would be on a saturday, 10/4, and I read that lines get very long. Would I be able to hit all the houses if I do get there at 6:30? Is it really worth the money. We have been to the haunted things at places like six flags new england and they are not really scary for us. Thanks for any info.

This year HHN is only at the Studios. All the rides are open except the ones being used as a house. Going on a weekend night is not recommended w/o purchasing the Express pass and even then the lines can be very long. If you purchase the EP for a Saturday night, you should be able to do all the houses but I doubt you'd be able to ride a lot of rides and do the houses. I love HHN...this is my fifth year and I don't miss it for the world. I definately think it's worth the money.

To keep the cost and wait times down, you might want to consider going on a non-peak night (Sunday, Wednesday or Thursday) and purchase the Express pass. This gives you access to all the houses AND attractions that are open. Also, if you're going to be in the park that day, do Stay & Scream. You will be able to stay in the park and get a jump on the houses while the public waits outside. It's definately worth doing.

Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes it is definately worth the money. On a peak night I would also get the express pass. Lines can and do get very long.

One word of warning once you go you will be hooked. Be prepared to want to go every year :thumbsup2

Yes, everything that they said times 2!
Try to find out when an extended hours night is, that's your best bet...
But I think you have to be staying at the 3 hotel parks not sure...

I get express passes even on non peak nights. Most of the time I don't even have to use them my first time thru the houses but they are great for saving until later in the evening when the lines have gotten longer. Or you can use them early and do rides later in the evening while everyone else is in line for houses.

D~

You do not have to be staying at the resorts to be able to buy the express passes.

OP, HHN is like nothing you have ever been to before! Totally worth the money! :)

What everyone else said!

We are haunted house fanatics, but somehow we never made it to HHN till last year because we got freebies with our Premier passes. Ended up getting Frequent Fear and doing the backstage and RIP tours, plus getting Express for several more visits, and now we're counting down the days till HHN this year. I'm sad that we missed it for so many years...it is as good as, or reall much better than, the best haunted houses we've been to in the Chicago area and at various amusement parks.
